Topic: 5-Year Surgiversary

Hi everyone!

I just realized yesterday was my 5-year surgiversary.  5 years ago I began a new journey, and my life has not been the same since.  My attitude & relationship with food changed.  I no longer have the aching hunger and obsession with food.  A small amount of food satisfies me and keeps me going.  I can't overeat anymore, because it's just too uncomfortable.  If I eat too much of the wrong kinds of things, there are certain unpleasant side effects I would rather avoid. I've learned to respect and love myself.  I take pride in my appearance.  I've become quite a "girly-girl"!  There are things I still struggle with, like getting enough protein and calcium.  I sometimes forget to eat.  However, Iast January I saw my surgeon, and he said my blood levels are great and that I reached my goal weight!  He said I'm one of the rare 2% of people that have this surgery who lose all of their excess weight.  So far I am keeping it off, God willing, and it's really not much of a struggle at all for me.  I ♥ my RNY!

Topic: RE: I have a question about gas of all things lol

I get those ... and I get a horrible one occasionally trapped right under my left breast too and it radiates to my rib cage and back .. I desperately try to belch but nothing happens ... it seems some times as though its onset is when I am lying in a certain position or sitting even ... it is very uncomfortable and then it goes away 'until the next time'... I don't recall having that issue prior to surgery and will have to look up how it correlates.

Maybe someone would come along and help.  I have had the busiest day ever trying to resurrect my doll.  Just getting on the computer.

In no way is this a beautiful topic lol, but I really do have a question about gas! Every now and then, I get a gas pain that feels like it is way up in my chest! Normally either, what feels to be inside either my left or right breast! My dr said its just gas that gets trapped... But I keep thinking how on earth could I get gas way up there?!? I'm wondering if this is a common place for post rny'ers to get gas? Have any of you had this before?
