Sunburn Sabotage

So here is a new way that I have sabotaged myself....sunburn. On Saturday, I took my 7 year old to  the beach. Just a mom and boy day. It was fabulous. I taught him how to body surf and boogie board. One mistake, I didn't find the sun screen until I unpacked the car at home. About 3 hours unprotected in the sun left me raw. While I joke with my family about trying to get an Irish tan (burn, peel and hope the freckles run together), I have been in such pain. Thankfully my son had on a swim shirt and long trunks and with his darker complexion, he didn't get the burn. Today was the first day I was able to put on a tank top without wincing. I am able to actually lift my arms above shoulder height.  YAY!

How has this been sabotaging? I've been doing really good about exercising lately, usually about 2 hours a day since I'm on vacation until early August when school gets back in session. Bust since Saturday I have only exercised for 1 hour which was today. I did the StairMaster for 20 minutes and the treadmill for 40. When I got home, my back, shoulders and chest were now covered in blisters where the sweat should have come out of my skin. So now in addition to being sensitive to the sunburn, I now have a myriad of little blisters just under the surface of my skin. Pain and I can't exercise. Plus I've regained 3 hard lost pounds. Can't believe I'm missing being able to exercise! OK, so I'm missing the scale going down through hard effort.

oooh that sounds like it hurts!  oatmeal bath, baking soda bath both help.
