I have Isopure and I've always mixed mine with milk and now hubby wants me to mix it with water. to me that's a little like hot chocolate with water..ewww. So my question to everyone is: "what do you mix your protein with?"

I agree with your husband, actually.  I don't think we can get enough water...  Since my surgery  I have been sensitive to milk and milk products, which I do  not think is such a bad thing. Our bodies really are not designed to drink milk after childhood, much less milk from another species. Milk sugars are just that, sugars. I am glad my body has rebelled against milk. As I used to really enjoy it and it has forced me out side of my comfort zone, to try new things.

Yes, I have tried soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk. So far, I like the almond milk the best. But the soy milk does have a lot more protein. Always get the unsweetened variety, another hint.

But I do not do the protein drinks as a way of getting my protein, too. So whatever works for you, imo.

Most of the time I use water to mix with my protein powders in the blender but I also use a lot of ice to make them thick and then I add things like natural peanut butter or instant coffee, my fave is starbuck via iced coffee, it mixes really well with the shake and it gives you a great taste if you like coffee or i add syrups, sugar free of course for different flavors or extracts because just a drop or 2 will do.  If you are going to use milk you can use lactaid milk, i always put a splash in if I am in the mood but if you make them thicker with ice and water then you don't need milk and you won't miss it.

I'm milk sensetive post-op, so it's water for me. I've tried with milk, but they taste too sweet.
