Your post, the video and H.a.l.a.'s replies gave me big Aha moments. I reached my WLS goal by not eating the starchy carbs. I'm trying to get back to eating the non-starchy carbs for weight maintenance and my health. As you pointed out, the norm of my husband and sons isn't my norm. We (me!) need to remember our new WLS norm that basically is just saying no to those types of carbs.

motility issue ...looks like your SIBO is back.. that may cause the motility - blockage - together with the adhesions ..

Well, I ended up in the hospital. They just can't get my sugar regulated! So I am in ICU. When are they ever going to figure out the cause of this and the cause of my pain? Thanks for all the support.

Carbs are comfort food... But the extra lbs are not
I've been there... But typically the carbs make me feel good for a very short time, then i physically feel worse... At the end, the good feeling lasts 5-15 min, the feeling bad -2-3 days.

Some of what the presentation covers resonates with me, and I CONFESS - I have been eating carbs!! Been telling myself the "comfort food" lies all winter, too.
Time for me to try another approach. Seriously.

Some of us need to stay away from most carbs... I know I am ... I do tolerate carbs from nuts, no starchy veggies, and some fruits that do not raise my BS very fast and very high.. (some berries).
