If you eat protein first with your meals, you won't need to be concerned about the number of grams.  Protein first takes care of the number of grams.

I like your "done pretty good today" - you have momentum to build on.

From the incident with my son, I'm somewhat on track.  Somewhat on track is not emotionally eating but I'm eating too many carbs.  This is my rock solid commitment as far as what I'll eat today.

Friday eats:

B - Coffee

L - Grilled Talipia

D - Scrambled eggs with veggies

S - Pear

Have a fantastic Friday BOTTing

If I remember right my dr. had me aim for about 65g a day of protein. I honestly don't count protein grams anymore (and might be part of why I am having to deal with weight gain now). But I do know that protein comes first and is the majority of each meal. Protein and water are the two things my dr. pushed as being most important to success. Best of luck to you and all us dealing with what we all no doubt promised ourselves we would NEVER allow to happen! We WILL lose this weight and keep it off.

Topic: Protein Target?

Hello!  I'm working on getting back on track. I've done pretty good today!  I'm trying to plan my meals and I remember after my surgery I had to keep eating protein to lose weight. But I don't recall what my target number of grams was. Does anyone recall what the target is?

Oh my!  I'm new here so can you fill me in.  Why a feeding tube?  That seems like a drastic measure.  Hope all goes well.

Very very cool.  Okay, well now it's the middle of the day.  I MUST tell my hubby to stop making me breakfast.  He's a doll - the best - but I'm eating an egg sandwich with ham and feta every morning!  Ah so good but gosh!  So, that's what I ate this morning.  Lunch was better...

B - 1 egg/ham sandwich/feta (tortilla)

L - Protein Shake (Arbonne Chocolate)

S - carrots dipped in balsamic vineger

D - Salad with veggie burger (no bun)

S - THIS IS WHERE I FAIL!!  But I shall commit to eating an apple.  :)

JUST CALL ME HARD HEADED. :)

Topic: RE: Welcome to new BOTTers

Hello!

I am so happy to find this group.  I had VSG in 2010 and I lost 68lbs but now I am up 25!  OMG, I can't believe that I allowed myself to get to this place again.  Since January - I've had my resolution to get back on track.  Now it's April and I've actually gained weight.  This is just crazy.  I KNOW what I am doing wrong.  I KNOW... but how to I get back on track?  I try and try but I don't have the same wherewithal I had following surgery.

I am happy to read posts from Cathy, Brandi, Amie Lynn, Bonnie, Scrappy Love, and Maria!  It's great to know that we are not alone.  That's step one - to understand that we are not abnormal and that we can band together (no pun intended ) :)  Then we have to be here to support each other through the good the bad and the ugly.  At least I KNOW that I need you all to help me.

Before I said that I know what I do wrong - I eat some carbs (not a lot believe it or not), eat a bit of sweets, and I drink wine.  Also, my weight gain really came on when two things in my life happened... I switched jobs and now I work out of my home.  So there is almost no exercise in my life.  Next, I had an accident and as I healed and afterwards I comforted myself through food.  Now, I have no excuses.  I want to be held accountable.  But why do I need others to do this?  My "tool" still works but my brain doesn't.

HELP!  :)

Ruthie
