Good morning botts:
Yesterday went well, I was just too busy to post. I find myself eating the same thing most days. I have a general question about snacks. Nutrasystem recommends a protein and a fruit between meals. Mayo clinic recommends only fruit and veggies between meals. Weight Watchers counts points all day long. Some others recommend counting calories all day long. My nut recommended 2 pieces of fruit in the morning and only protein after dinner. I don't really know what I like best and what lets me eat the fewest calories in the long run. So I keep plugging along with my extremely slow weight loss. Have a great day everyone. Tri
My meal plan today:
B: Metamucil crackers and protein coffee
S: nectarine, plain Greek yogurt
L: salad with rf cheese, seeds, ff dressing, turkey, small nsa bran muffin
S: strawberries and ff cottage cheese
D: salmon and rice
S: apples, craisins, walnuts, plain Greek yogurt
BTW: when my body needs some "comfort food" I let it have it - no more than once a week.. for me it is natural organic PB NSA.
or salsa and pork rinds..
or unlimited chicken or pork loin..

I'm not a fan of bars. Trying to help get past the hump of feeling like I'm on dieting. The more I try to control my food, the more my brain will not shut up about being "hungry"
Watch for some so called "low carb bars" . I got really "burned" by that. In many cases - the low carbs is calculated by substructing SA and fiber. But our body gets very smart and can still convert that to simple sugars... They are still carbs - just may be slower carbs... Watch for cravings if you introduce them...
Things like quest bars, pure proteins, etc etc..always afected my BS.. Not in a good way... And they either stalled my WL or make me gain...
The only "bars" that I personally use are epic bars...they are made from meat, nuts and some fruits. They are my emergency food. And since they are weird (i call them "acquired taste") I only eat them in emergency...not when I want some tasty snack... They are OK to eat...but not that good to enjoy them as food.... I take them with me when I travel and always have some in my purse in case of emergency... And it has to be an emergency for me to eat that...lol..

3 days coke and sweet tea free. I mindlessly ate a brownie tonight before I even realized it, otherwise not bad.
Working on my shopping list to try to do induction like low carbs for 2 weeks-premier protein shakes(need to double check stats)eggs, canadian bacon, hollandaise sauce, low carb soup ingredients, steak, low carb bars, pork rinds, dill pickles, cheese and researching what else.

I like that you post your food for the day. It gives me Ideas and portion ideas. I have recently gained 15 pounds and struggling to get my eating under control. So seeing what people have during the day not only gives me ideas but lets me know that I am not alone.

GREAT idea's Tri! I have been looking for a good dip for chicken and bunless burgers for years and recently found a really good one! It is a greek yogurt with ranch dressing powder. Only 45 calories and next to no sugar or carbs! Wish I would have found it years ago, but glad I at least found it now :)
I try my hardest to have set meal times for the most part to prevent myself from grazing. But on my days off I find it much harder to stick too. I really hate it when I want to eat, but no that I am truly NOT "hungry" just want to eat or crave tasting food!
One of my main "cheats" is an extra coffee during the day. I start each morning with one (with creamer) and honestly look forward to it the night before. On days I need something flavorful I will have another cup (again with creamer). It's extra calories but some times perks me up, warms me up and it's a better choice than a lot of other things I could reach for.
Fighting the fight each day :)
