If you don't mind feel like you are starving...

I know I can't do that. To decarb - I pick 3-5 days and follow very low carb diet but I eat dense proteins mostly and some non starch veggies plus fat. D

Uring those days I don't limit qty or calories... But limit what I eat... I.e. baked chicken..with some cucumbers, NSA pickles.. Eat as much as you want. Avocado 1 -2 a day.

HB eggs, griled or sauted fish, pork loin, Turkey..etc.. Green salad with oil and vinegar - just avoid balsamic - high in sugars.

Cold cuts - most of them have sugar added - avoid or chose some that don't - eat ham and cheese roll ups..

After 2-3 days - my body naturally adjust and I am no longer "starving".. How much chicken a person can eat??? And when I get hungry - but not hungry for chicken or fish - then I know it is head hunger - carbs cravings , not real hunger..

Topic: March 1 Nutrasystem D (again)

Good morning botts;

I have been eating healthy the past few day but that darn scale simply  won't move.  I am on day 1 Nutrasystem D today.  I bought the 5 day sampler box to get under 200 lbs. before vacation.  The portion sizes also help me reset my eyes.  I am a snow shut in for the next 3 days.  I cleaned the bathrooms and the upstairs over the past few days so today I will clean the first floor and the dreaded basement.  Anything to move for 3 hours today.  We all have to do whatever it takes to stay on track.  Have a great day.  Tri

B:blueberry muffin

S:8 oz. yogurt and grapefruit

L:2 cups lettuce, 1 cup tomato, cucumber and sugar snap peas and 2 tbsp. ff dressing and a Nutrasystem peanut butter bar

S: 1/4 cup Craisins and 2 tbsp. almonds

D: Nutrasystem D lasagne, 2 cups lettuce, 1 cup tomato, cucumber and sugar snap peas and 2 tbsp. ff dressing

S: Carrot cake

I agree.  I quit my job the March after my RNY because I thought less stress and more time to spend on myself would help me lose weight.  I have more time than money for cleaning now.  It takes me 45 minutes to clean a window.  My windows open and fold in all directions and the bottoms and screens get amazingly dirty from year to year.  Then there is the basement which houses past sports equipment which I will never be able to do again and stuff we no longer use. Washing, folding and stuffing a sleeping bag for example takes a day.  Cleaning out the lower kitchen cabinets was like crawling into a cave on my hands and knees. What a sight that was!!

A lot of people follow the 5 day pouch test and it works really well.  That is sort of like newbies. You can lose your regain.  Tri

I wonder if we can eat like those initial days after wls. meaning protein shakes, clear foods, then soups, etc. at the time I was taking in about 500-600 calories with 60g of protein..I was thinking of doing this for  1-2 weeks to get rid of the dreaded carb monster.....

I would love if you came for a 3 day visit... Lol.. Or 5 days... You can get as much exercise as you like.. I can feed you... I am a good cook.

Btw: every so often I have lady come to help do detail cleaning in our home... She usually comes for 5-8 hours. She is so good and does not take breaks.. And since I do work with her at the same time...by the time she leave - I need a nap and a strong painkiller.  Unless I am not home - I can't just sit around when others work on my house...

I do work long hours and with my back issues - it is cheaper for me to higher someone to do some detailed cleaning than to do it myself. (behind toilets, baseboards, Windows, etc etc)

Good Morning Botts:

I woke up at 4 am this morning...hungry!  I weighed myself and I finally lost another pound.  I was checking my email and found an article.  This is the intro:

"According to the British Medical Journal, current guidelines suggest adults do 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity a week, yet more than a third (35.6 percent) are far from meeting this target. Why? Two articles published in the BMJ this week argue that the 150-minute objective is unrealistic, especially for older people, who generally become more immobile as they age"

One of the most fit people at my gym is the cleaning lady...it got me thinking. My goal has been to clean for 3 hours a day.  I record movies and plop myself in my comfy chair.  At every commercial I set my kitchen timer and clean for 10 to 15 minutes. This seems so simple, but it is helping my re-weight loss.  It is so easy to sit in a chair for 2 hours and then get up to eat a meal or a snack and plop back down.  Cleaning a bathroom is a great workout.  Stretching to clean the shower walls and floor, kneeling to clean a toilet, shaking the rugs, washing the floor by hand, cleaning the sink and the mirror.  Vacuuming and moving furniture.  Hauling laundry over the stairs.   According to OH, I burn 240 calories for 1 hour of moderate cleaning.  I also went shopping and to the pool for a swim.  Have a great day everyone.  Tri

My meal plan today:

B: Jimmy Dean delight

S: lettuce, ss peas, cucumber slices, tomato, rf cheese, seeds, croutons and Brandigirl's ranch dip

L: quinoa, beef, celery, onion

S: 1/2 avocado, salsa and multigrain gluten free crackers

D: quinoa and beef, celery, onions and bok choy

S: grapefruit, sf sponge cake and sf pudding

Good morning botts:

I slept over 9 hours last night which for me is very unusual.  It is going up to the 50's in Wisconsin on Saturday.  Spring is just around the corner.  The snow is all melted.  The grass is brown and the trees are leafless though.  I remember a couple huge snowstorms on tax day in the past so we are not out of the woods yet.  I am looking foreword to a day of nice weather.  Today I am going to try Brandigirl's Greek yogurt Hidden Valley ranch dip...IT IS  DELICIOUS!!!  I hope you all have a great day.  Tri

Topic: RE: Vacation ?

I am an all or nothing person too.  Unfortunately my normal diet is not as restrictive as yours so when I do nothing I am really bad.  I have 2 more "sun vacations" this winter.  I didn't track food on my January vacation and I gained.  This time I am taking my tracking sheet and hopefully will do better.  Depending where you go, they often have a low carb selection on the menu.  Sometimes you don't even need to look at the menu because the servers can get you what you want if you explain your preferences to them.  I hope you have fun and your extra activities will burn off extra calories.  Tri
