Grazing is a very bad one! I TRY now to set meal times (can be very difficult for me since I work late hours often). But I have gotten good at sticking to my 2 meals a day now (I have never been a breakfast eater). If I had lunch 2 hours ago and get hungry, I tell myself that it is too bad and I have to wait until a decent dinner time! I tell myself lie's like, "hunger pains are what you feel when your body is burning off fat". haha Makes me kind of look forward to them! I had gotten where I was never allowing myself to get to the point of feeling actually hungry before which is NOT good! Whatever it takes to get you to where you have to be. Measure amounts and set meal times-for me they are KEY to success. Best of luck :)
I'm going out to buy an arm band for my phone so I can track what I actually walk daily. My body aches all the time and I think it's two things, too many refined carbs and sugar and not moving enough.
I started on Saturday and so this is day 5. I've stuck with protein shakes, cottage cheese, a few slices of chicken and home made soup that contains ground turkey, veggies and tomatoes....day 2 was bad, but 3-5 has been better. I'm trying to walk more as well atleast the recommended 10,000 steps a day.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I don't want to starve myself but I have to eat less... Grazing and not measuring has got me here
Good morning botts:
Yesterday went well. The new Nutrasystem box was different then the old plan so my meals yesterday were a little different from my plan. but the same idea. I cleaned the downstairs and gave my houseplants a complete grooming. We keep the house at 68 degrees and they would prefer the 70s so some of their leaves needed to be cut off. My African violets bloom in February so they needed a good trim as well. I got one of them from my mom decades ago. It keeps growing year after year. I am planning on working in the basement today. I still have some antique dolls and doll clothes I need to clean to donate. I can run some of our laundry with them. Anything to climb stairs and move. Have a great day. Tri
Today's meal plan:
B: Nutrasystem cranberry bites
S: Grapefruit (saving yogurt for lunch)
L: Nutrasystem beans and ham soup, 2 cups raw veggies and Brandi Girls ranch Greek yogurt dip
S: baked apple with almonds
D: Nutrasystem pizza and 1 cup broccoli
S: Nutrasystem white cheddar popcorn and my veggie soup if I am still hungry.
I bought a sample box at Walmart for $45. Nutrisystem is 3 meals (your could use frozen ones) and 2 cups of lettuce and 1 cup of raw veggies with fat free dressing for lunch and dinner; snacks are a protein (yogurt, cottage cheese, light cheese stick, 2 tbsp. nuts, 1 tbsp. peanut butter) and a fruit serving. AT night you get a low sugar/high protein dessert. You could improvise.
I am going to try to be as good as possible on vacation because my January vacation was a bust. It took me a month to relose the weight and I have only lost one more additional pound since. Hala has some good ideas. Maybe that will help.
Best of luck to us. Tri
I was on Vacation for 8 days.. And I gained 2 lbs that I lost a week after we got back.
I concentrated on proteins and fat in my meals, but I allowed some treats during one meal a day. I also had some wine...I chose dry, chardonnay... I had a few bites of dessert one day. Another day - 2 (small) slices of thin crust pizza and 1/2 burger.. Then one day I had a small bag of peanut m&m that I ate slowly... I had some local fruits and chocolate another day...
I did not feel deprived, and the vacation did not caused significant weight gain. I snacked on nuts.
Good luck getting to the pre-vacation goal.

That's one of the few diets I have never tried, but only because I have no idea of the price but just figured it was more than i would be comfortable with :/ When I did consider it, I would end up just going to the store and buying those frozen diet meals (adkins or Lean Cuisines) and just trying that route. I agree with it helping give you a better idea on portion sizes. I am in the same boat as you trying to lose a few more pounds before vacation! No way I can meet goal by then so I set a smaller goal. I am leaving for vacation on Sunday and within a pound of that smaller goal :D But now my fear is, how much will I gain while on vacation? I plan on gaining and trying to be ok with that because-hey it is vacation after all. But I have worked SO hard to lose and don't want to start all over again with the cravings struggle. Fingers crossed it goes well for us both!!

For me to get the "dreaded carb monster" out of my system, I cut them out 100% at first by allowing myself to eat ANY type of proteins and ANY amount I felt I needed. By eating as much as I wanted of foods that had NO carbs I didn't feel deprived or starving. While still cleaning my system of carbs. After the second week I felt so much better already and then switched over to healthy proteins with lower fat (according to my plan) and added in only vegetables for carbs. Seemed much easier to me and less of a punishment. You can get rid of the weight!! Each of us is different and have to find what works for us. Best of luck to you and us all.
