Good morning botts

I lost 3 lbs. this morning. The 2 I gained on vacation and 1 new relost pound.  I am 204 lbs.  Onederland is so close.  I am using the Mayo clinic food pyramid check off sheet. If I eat everything on the pyramid I eat 2000 calories.  There are 8 healthy carb servings and I usually can get by with 4 so I am eating under 1700 calories.  My big dog is dropping her winter coat all over the house so cleaning is a never ending resource of exercise. Hope you all have a great day.  Tri

Congratulations on doing such a good job while on vacation!! Making the right food choices is never easy when you are away from home. The closer I get to my goal weight the more I realize that portion control and every carb I eat makes a HUGE difference! So that is what I'm working on. Smaller portions and keeping track of every bite. Once the warm weather gets here (and stays) I know the extra calories from getting out of the house more will help as well :) Best of luck!

Hi and welcome... The first step is to see the problem.  Then to fix it.  One day ata time, one meal at a time.

one bad meal does not give me an excuse to mess taht whole day.

One bad day is not an excuse to mess up a week..

and so on...

For me to lose weight is all about diet.Exercise can make me feel better.. but limiting calories and carbs is the only thing that makes me lose weight and fat.

It is easier said than done... stress eating, eating when i get tired - I known "fixes - make me good fixes".

but now - when the stress is high, and I do have the "mangies" I makes sure I have real food to eat. Chicken, pork, fish, and some low carbs veggies... HB eggs are great "to go snack"..

I cna now see the real hunger vs the head hunger. There is only so much chicken I can eat..

Making sure i have real food is critical. Planing planning and prepping. I cook lots of food at a time - portion and freeze. Or I buy "ready to eat" food and keep it handy. (i.e. baked chicken,  pork roast, beef roast) Something that has no sugar added (NSA) and it is as simple as I would make it at home..

(pizza in not on the  list - unless it is for my SO)

Hi all. I'll try to give a quick background for those that may not know me. I had vsg in 2010 and went from 287 to 209. Never got to under 200. Never got to goal. Gained back to 250. Had rny in November of 2014. Got down to 196. First time under 200 since GRADE SCHOOL! Extremely excited and then I don't know what happened. I fell off the wagon. And gained to 219 where I sit now. I have two special needs son and will be going through a divorce soon. (Marriage has been bad for years). But I need to take care of me. Going to the gym tomorrow for the first time in months to start classes I used to take. I'm 40 and will be 41 in June. Just looking to be a support to anyone and also hoping to receive some as most times I feel alone on this journey. Look forward to making new friends. :)

So cool... I assume you had great time on Vacation..

You are right not to stress about the scale for a while.  I am doing low car- higher fat, and when I have a day or few of higher carbs - the scale can show up to 5 lbs gain... And that is typically gone in - 4 days after I return to my low carbing.

The last 10 lbs are hard to get rid off.. Ugh.. Stil working on mine.. 2 lbs down..1 up...

Well back from vacation. I don't and won't weigh myself until Sunday to see how it Not going to lie, it was NOT easy finding healthy food choices there! So I didn't stress over it and just tried to concentrate on eating smaller amounts. I figured if I couldn't eat "better" least I could do is eat less or not over eat anyways. And the amount of walking we did!!!! I have a feeling it may have burned off any extra weight the carbs may have caused! I feel comfortable with how I did even though I did eat carbs while there. But I'm home now and vacation is over! Time to go back to eating according to my plan. To be honest, for me the sacrifice of giving up carbs is WELL worth it to feel and look better! I didn't mind getting my picture taken (something that I NEVER use to allow) and know that once this last 10-15 pounds is gone I will only look and feel even BETTER yet! Hope you are all well and sticking to our plans :)
