I know for me if i eat carbs I get hungrier and doesn't fill me up as well as protein and veggies do. So not that I'm always successful, lol, I try to keep carbs to maybe one slice of low carb toast or a low carb tortilla a day and the rest is veggies, beans and yugurt. It's hard! I love my potatoes but I know I won't lose if I eat them. My metabolism is slow though so maybe other people can eat more than me and lose but I try to keep my carbs under 50 a day. I say try... the other day I went to my sister's and the cheesy potatoes called out to me, sigh. The struggle is real!
I am going to have a protein cocoa before bed tonight. It is like a shake but I make it with hot water and chocolate whey protein powder. I don't think about protein shakes between meals. That's a good idea though. Thanks, Tri
Good afternoon botts:
I can put weight on my foot this week. Because I was off of it for 7 weeks, my leg is actually weaker. It will take time to build up endurance. I am trying to eat 4 meals rather than 6 meals today so that my blood sugar is lower before meals. I also thought I would feel food if I ate more of it at one time, but it just slides on through. I am not eating anymore calories though. Have a great day, Tri

Thank you Cathy and Kathy!
I had my RNY back in 2005 in Ocala, FL with Dr. Jawad. I started at 420 lbs and managed to get down to 265 in a little over a year. Life happened and my new habits ended up taking a back seat. I have been telling myself for years that I can start again whenever I want to, but now I am finally putting that into action! I've been plugging away for about a month now. Things have been moving very slowly... but I'm not giving up.
I have been pretty good about updating on my OH blog, both in the very beginning, and now which has been helpful for me to look back on. I have also been logging my foods on "Lose It". However it is very time consuming and so recently I have begun writing what I eat in my planner.
Looking forward to participating in the journeys of other, including others in mine, as well as learning new tips, tricks, and information!

Good morning botts:
Hope you all had a great weekend. My house is so empty without any house guests. I have 2 doctor appts. today with the infectious disease doc and the ortho surgeon. My husband has been cleaning the house since Memorial Day. He even pulled weeds around the house. Grateful is an understatement. Tomorrow I can take over the cleaning detail. 240 calories an hour will help get some pounds off. I can't wait to get back to the pool as well. Have a great day everyone. Tri

I thought I'd post later today so that I don't have to edit as often. My pre-lunch blood sugar was 94 (I felt fine) without any regular insulin again today. That Lantus insulin is wonderful. Years ago before they made Lantus I was always high or low. As long as I space my food I feel like a normal person. 4 days left until I can walk on my foot. The foot looks great. Have a great day everyone. Tri
