S: salad

Looks like BOTT is dead... have you consider joining daily post on RNY forum about eating?

Good evening botts:

I went to the gym 6 days this week.  I upped my biking to 2 miles a day and my swimming to 150 yds a day the second half of the week. That is 1/6th a sprint triathlon.  That makes 9 miles on the bike and 750 yds. in the pool.  I can feel my muscles building up again.  I've been trying to cut back carbs but it is difficult to eat no fruit, starches and dairy.  I have enough problem without desserts and snacks. I keep trying.  Tri

My meal plan today:

B: Jimmy Dean delight 260

S: hard boiled egg 70 (almost enough cholesterol for the day though)

L:  chicken breast, cheese, high fiber tortilla, cabbage with vinegar/oil dressing 300

S: chicken wings, tomato and cucumber 200

D: turkey, cabbage, scallions with soy sauce stir fry 240

S: whey protein cocoa and Nutrisystem D cookies 320

Good afternoon botts

I have increased my workout the past few days to 100 yd. swim and 1 mile bike as well as cleaning and shopping.  I have decreased my Lantus insulin to 15 units and I think that is as low as I should go.  My fasting blood sugars are in the 110s and I have had over 150 BSs a couple of times before meals and supplemented with 2 units of regular insulin.  Because I eat 6 meals a day I sometimes I only have 2 hours between meals.  I find this all very confusing, but I am doing the best I can.  I have been on antibiotics (IV or oral) for almost 8 weeks.  I take probiotics but it is hard on the gut.  I have 1/2 bottle of antibiotics left.  I am up a couple of pounds since this all began.  Mostly because I am not moving enough and partly because of the extra food I eat when my BSs are low.  I hope everything is well with all of you.  Tri

My food plan today:

B: Jimmy Dean Delight 260

S: plain Greek yogurt, strawberries and clementine 170

L: salad, chicken breast, whole wheat pasta and cheese 540

D: veggie soup, chicken, whole wheat pasta and cheese 390

S: Slimfast chips, nectarine, Nutrisystem D cookies 320

Have you look at this guy?  When I had an issue with severe RH - I used his methods to control my BS- not allowing it to get high enough for my body to overreact with insulin... I had to learn to eat food that woudl either not affect my BS or affect it very slowly.  The advice I got from my nut-   was to eat carbs and to eat every 2 hours.. making sure I wake up in a middle of teh night to eat- so I don't crash in my sleep.. ugh..  That made me gain weight and did not stop my low BS episodes...  someone suggested dr Bernstein's book and within a week my BS was stable and i slowly started losing the regain do to carbs I had to eat to prevent the crashes...

Achieving normal blood sugars for diabetics with the aid of a low carbohydrate diet and exercise is the focus of Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution, and The Diabetes Diet, Dr. Bernstein's Low-Carbohydrate Solution. http://www.diabetes-book.com/

Good evening botts

I am moving a little more every day.  Today I went to the gym and rode 1 mile on the bike.  Then I swam 100 yds.  We went out for lunch and I had a Greek salad with vinegar and oil on the side.  I brought home the pita triangles.  I shopped at Sam's club for 2 hours.  My foot feels really great in my new Sketchers.   Last night in decreased my Lantus insulin to 16 units and I still woke up shaking in the middle of the night with my BS in the 80s.  I ate buttermilk, an egg and some strawberries.  I guess tonight I will try 15 units.  I have regular insulin to take if my BS goes above 150 before a meal, but I haven't needed that in weeks.  I am still eating to use up the insulin I am taking.  I am trying to use insulin to absorb the food I eat.  Extra insulin makes me more hungry so I will keep working on it until I figure it out or I can get into a diabetic educator.  She will probably tell me to do what I am doing.  Cutting back faster could make my BS go too high.  Tomorrow starts a new month.  There are only 5 months until the end of the year.  I really want this year to be the year I reach my permanent weight...whatever that turns out to be.  How about you?  Tri

My meal plan today:

B: Jimmy dean delight 260

L: lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, oil, vinegar, feta cheese, gyro meat 450

D: veggie soup, chicken breast, brown rice, quinoa pasta 375

S: 400 calories of something

Good evening botts:

I hope everyone is relosing those extra pounds.  A couple people have posted successes.  I am getting used to swimming again 2 lengths this week and 4 lengths next week.  It really helps me to log my food to keep me on track.  I am going to drop my insulin again to 17 units at night because I am waking up early and needing to eat breakfast at 6 am.  I bought some Sketchers sandals and they are very comfortable so I am moving more.  It takes time.  Have a great day everyone.  Tri
