Back On Track Together

I have been following my dot diet and gardening. It feels good to lose weight. I can feel my muscles getting stronger too. I need to keep building my new habits. Tri
This morning I am back to 225 lbs. Looking back I was 223 lbs. on June 28th. I have almost lost the 7 lbs. I gained this summer. I am going to continue the dot diet and the little plate today. Basically it is 3 servings each of protein, dairy, starches, veggies, fruit and fat. A serving is ADA diet servings size. The little plate is divided into 3 sections:small for starch, med for protein and large for veggies/fruits. I have more weeding to do today. Tri

Summer is coming to an end. Life has settled down. It is time to get bot again. This is a typical day for me when I am off track. I can't believe I can eat all this food. It will be really difficult to get bot tomorrow, but I need to do this for myself. Today I ate 2370 calories which is typical for me. No junk food and no liquid calories. I never feel like I swallowed food. I simply need to eat a couple hundred calories less and move a couple hundred calories more to take off weight. Patience and persistence have to be my virtues. I need to weed my gardens and get back to the pool. Most of my adult life I weighed around 170 lbs. until the RNY. I have not been under 200 lbs. since 2012. I have a temporary goal of 190 lbs. I should be able to do this. Wish me luck. Tri

I had a fun 4th weekend, but parties play havoc on my diet. A little wine and my resistance flies out the window. I can eat a tremendous amount of food and never feel like I swallowed anything. I have to take extra insulin when I eat too many carbs and the insulin allows my cells to grab on to every calorie. When my blood sugar drops my brain calls out for more food. Time to get bot again. It is definitely not easy. I will do my weigh in next Friday. I made my veggie soup, a ff/sf cheesecake and fruit salad this morning. I will make a nice tossed salad this afternoon. Hopefully I will take off what I gained and perhaps a little more this week. I haven't been under 200 lbs. since 2012. My gardens are calling out to me. Weeds need to be pulled. We lost several bushes and small trees last winter that need to be cut down. I have a lovely pool, bike and sauna at my gym that will feel great this evening. It is time to get healthy. Tri
I have been keeping my food journal for the past few days from lunch to lunch because most days I am going over 1800 calories and skipping breakfast to make up for it. It is just not working very well for me. I am going back on the dot diet and eating off dinnerware that self measures food to simplify my life. It is difficult to cut back healthy starches to three 1/2 cup servings of rice, pasta or potatoes. I did get to the gym a couple days this week and plan on swimming today as well. Tri
I know they tell us that breakfast is important. On the other hand a WW leader suggested that if we continually eat too many calories in a day, we can try counting from lunch to lunch. Then if we are over calories we can skip breakfast. I am going to give it a try because I ate a 1/2 cheeseburger in the middle of the night when I woke up hungry. I don't know if I should count it yesterday or today. I swam at the gym...2 lengths today. Tri
My food plan today:
ff cottage cheese and a peach 150
salad 100
chicken breast, 1/2 roll and broccoli slaw 400
cheesecake 200
my veggie soup 50
chicken, 1/2 roll and broccoli slaw 400
snack 300
breakfast sandwich 200
I followed the diet closely yesterday. 1800 calories seems like a lot but it is very difficult for me to eat that amount. I need to be persistent. It is more of a lifestyle change than a diet because this is how I must eat to maintain 170 lbs. I think keeping a food journal is important so I will continue that. I was looking for food before it was time for lunch. I said to myself, "I choose not to eat" and I stood strong. It was an old Weigh****chers trick. Tri
Breakfast sandwich with 1/2 English muffin 150
apple, cheese and pecans 300
Salad 100

I re-lost 5 of the 6 lbs. I gained since May while on vacation. I really do a lot right but end up eating 2300 calories so many days. I need to consistently eat 1800 calorie to get to my first goal of 199 lbs. I eat my veggie soup and a salad with fat free dressing every day. I need to keep cutting back a little here and a little there. I would love to be 222 or even 221 by next Friday morning. Tri
My food record:
brk sand 1/2 muffin 150
my veggie soup 50
thin crust pizza 500
salad with ff dressing 100
my sf/ff cheesecake and a peach 200
ham/pasta 500
snack 200?
I had a great vacation but I gained back to 228. BOT today though. I heard about intermittent fasting. I can wait to eat breakfast for 12 to 14 hours if I put off my insulin for a couple of hours. Hopefully I can make this work and speed up my weight loss. Tri
