Topic: SO frustrated

I have done everything right. Yesterday was the picture perfect meal plans for a day and I woke up with a two pound gain today. WHat gives? I'm so frustrated. How can I have gained 2 pounds? I'm going to work on drinking more water today because the only thing I can figure is that I'm retaining water. It doesn't matter how the weight came on over night just that it did. I'm so frustrated and disappointed. I feel like a big fat failure. I had only been to 17 lb loss and now I'm up 2 lbs. I pray that drinking more water today gets me the loss that I gained. I can't believe I've gained 2 pounds, TWO POUNDS. that is ridiculous. I hate my body and it's way of messing with me just when I think I'm doing good.

Topic: Too much Salt-Too much Fat

When I  am trying to get carbs and sugar out of my system I don't pay attention to how much fat is in the proteins I eat. I am usually having a hard enough time giving up carbs and sugar that if I get super strict about what I eat I would cave. But yesterday I wasn't feeling just right. Not sick, but didn't feel right. I think it was too much salt and high fatty meats . No doubt could use more fluids as well (water for sure). Typically I go 2 weeks before I start to really tighten up my eating as far as fatty food and such, but think I may have to do it a little sooner. On a good note, no carbs STILL and not missing them either (yet I'm sure). I'll take it

For starters, I'm sorry you are having to deal with such hard issue's with your daughter. Very sad thing that far too many family's have to deal with! But congratulations on how you were able to deal with SO much stress and still make the right choices when it comes to eating!! I find that after carbs are out of my body for a while when I eat them I also get sick. I think it is a great thing because it does deter us from wanting to eat them again (if only they didn't taste do darn good). But I try to tell myself it is our body's way of also saying you know this has to be BAD for us for our body to reject it like that!! Guess our body's really do tell us what and how much it needs if we just learn to listen.

I'm down another .6lbs! But the nsv is that I've had a very stressful weekend and I didn't turn to food to get through it. That's always been my way of coping and I dealt with it on my own. My middle child is an addict and started using again over the weekend. I had to throw her out and I didn't turn to food to deal with it. I'm very proud of myself. I had a slight cheat day yesterday. WELL A cheat meal and the carbs actually made me sick. I threw it all up. I guess my body wants to stick to the good stuff for now. Today I'm eating cottage cheese and pineapple for breakfast with a shake, lunch I'm eating some more of my cabbage soup, and lunch I think I'm going to eat a cheddar wurst. I like those as long as my stomach can handle it that's what I'll eat for dinner. My doctor stopped filling my protonix for some reason and I'm having a hard time with food.

I used to have stove top pressure cooker. I used that thing 2 times in 15 years. Sold it. Bought the IP.

They had greatvsale on it on Black Friday. We both 2 for gifts. And... I bought the 8 qrt GoWise for me.

I make a lot of soups (chicken or beef and veggie - ) and the 6 qrt was just bit too small (i was over-filling it - not a good idea).

Woot woot.. 5lbs.. Fantastic!!!

I am at the age that feeling better beats any desire for crappy food or drinks (i.e alcohol - makes causes my heart to race..makes me uneasy...)

Was down 5 pounds! Great to see but I'm at the age and point in life where feeling better is more important to me than even looking better! Not that I don't enjoy looking better

Thank you for your reply! I have been reading about the instant pot for the past 3 days now and my husband is bugging me for Christmas idea's but have not wanted to say this just yet until I did some research to make sure it wasn't going to end up a waste of money and kitchen space! I don't mind the crock pot taking hours since I'm at work all day anyways. And my  husband often uses the pressure cooker when we both get home late and the crock pot wasn't used so I was not sure if it would end up being much different than that. I think now I am going to suggest it and give it a try! Next idea is the for the hand held vegetable spirlizer (not sure what the name of them is). Thanks again for your opinion :D And YES you did once again make me hungry-but for healthy options so not such a bad thing after all.

I avoid the crappy food now because eating clean makes me feel so much better. The clarity of thinking, less overall "malady" ...joints and back pain... Less inflamation.

Wishing you best on the scale...but remember - it is just a number...

Investing in a good electric pressure cooker was a great idea for me. For days like that when I can't manage setting things up way ahead of time...and what takes hours in a crock pot - take minutes (or maybe 30-45 min) in my pressure cooker when I get home...

I have Instant Pot brand - the 6 quart. And I gave some of them (over last 2 years) as gifts. But I also not "Gowise" 8 qrt because the IP 8 was much more expensive and I heard good things about the Gowise.

I.e. take. Fresh or frozen chicken - top with salsa seasoning, some salsa..  (add some water to getbsteam) Set for 20-30 min.. Walk away - come back to "taco chicken" that can be speeded and eaten as it - or use as toppings on salad, or zoodles...

I hate cutting butternut squash.. Now I just put it whole - or cut and de-seed, for 10 min high pressure.. Take out..scoup the fresh.. And eat it... (i added good carbs to stop weight loss)

Same can be done with a so popular - low carb spaghetti squash. No need to wait 30-45 min roasting  in the oven. Some make the meat sauce in IP and just put the whole squash on top of the sauce so all is done together.

I make lean beef spaghetti sauce in my IP. Use lean beef, brown it in the pot, top with RTE to Katie sauce (low sugar) or crushed tomatoes and lots of spices... Set for 15 min ... Yummy... My BF gets it with pasta - I get zoodles (zucchini noodles)

There again ...I made you hungry for good food... ...

And my eyes can eat more of that than I gut allows me to. Very filling.
