I started at 240. Had RNY in 2004. Got down to 170. Now back to 210. Know that I started eating only carbs and sweets. I totally fell off the wagon and splat onto the ground and failed to get back up (yet).
I moved from WI to IL. I loved walking in WI. Hate walking in IL. Trying to find other ways to exercise but I'm so embarrassed about my weight and how I look.

Thanks for the link, I have been seeing a lot of the muffin tin portion control recipes. Been thinking about making them. I know prep first. I need to research healthy recipes. My husband and I have cholesterol that is creeping up. and both now are on high blood pressure meds. something with lots of vegies I think will be what I look for today and try it.
it is not baking - and it really takes close to no time... check the 5 min low carb muffin in a cup recipes..
They used to be "life saver for me":
mix egg and some protein powder with sweeteners and some fat in a "large mug" Microwave on high - watch as things raise up... and turn it off when it stops... take it out- allow to cool.. eat...
Some are elaborate - others- very simple.
I would mix the following: 1 egg, 1/2 tbs of flax meal, 1 tsp of oil...(any oil) 1 tbs of milk (I used almond) pinch of salt- pepper -caraway.. . pinch of baking powder. Mix very well.. nuke for 1-3 min (depends how dry you want i, cup size, etc) . I used to use that as "bread". Or i would add sweetener , cocoa, and have a "chocolate cake..".

So far I have not gotten myself to be able to get into baking or recipes that are going to take me too much time. Either I don't have the time on days I work or on my days off I have no energy to be doing much more than I have to besides catching up on chores around the house. I have started this week cooking meals for the freezer on my days off but even those are simple put into Instant Pot or crock pot type of meals. LOVE THAT! My husband loves pork rinds! He keeps trying to get me to try them. He eats bbq flavored ones. I'm going to give them a try. He has never dipped them with anything so that may be a great extra treat we both can try!! Thanks for the idea :)
for me - it is pork rinds and no sugar add salsa or some other type of a dip - like good yogurt tzatziki.. (you could probably add some protein powder to it)
I make avocado mousse... or I bake "dessert like" breads using things like flax meal , protein, powder, butternut squash, etc instead of flour...
I have a simple recipe : almond butter, eggs, protein powder mixed with shredded coconut or flax meal.
I make keto-paleo "breads" and "cookies" ...
check egg face blog, or nom nom paleo blog.
I also make waffles...again - using some eggs, add fat and add protein powder...or shredded coconut..
I do intuitive cooking - just toss things together until they look and smell right... make it.. I make a batch - portion and freeze.
I made some 'sweet potato brownies" - but I used butternut squash, added eggs and protein powder..
they are low net carb. They turn more like a dense chocolate cake... still not too bad... when I wa losing weight - i used more of things like psyllium husks and flax meal.. that provided the texture and fiber but it was supper low net carbs..

Been trying to freeze some meals ahead of time to make late night dinners easier. But I have been finding the snack idea's through my day are very limited (usually just string cheese, few almonds, or a yogurt). I would love some more idea's on snacks. My husband is great about eating what I eat and not snacking or cheating (at least around me) but he also agree's we need to find a snack for evenings when we are just sitting and watching tv after dinner has emptied from our belly's but we still have a while before bed and we get a little hungry. I need quick, no/low carb, grab and go type of snacks. I have never tried any protein bars so lately been wondering if I should give them a try. But I am a little worried that I may like them too much and it could lead to bad choices. Probably just a mental thing I have with them and candy bars in general.

Looks like there will be a very good chance I will be snowed in today. Husband went grocery shopping for us the other day (thank goodness, because I have been not so great about doing it during this cold spell). So I am hoping to get a few meals made up and put into freezer for days like I had last week when I gave in/came close to getting unhealthy fast food due to nothing to eat in house! I have thought about and even tried to 'meal prep' in the past and just can't seem to get over the feeling of eating left overs. But think if I freeze the meals maybe I won't get that feeling. Hope. Plus meals will last longer in freezer. So I don't have to eat the same meal several days in a row or else it goes to waste type of pressure I feel with meal prep.

No change on scale yesterday. Kinda what I expected. I'm fine with that, but hey who wouldn't like to see it go down every week? I think watching the scale move down is the best motivation you can have! So when that doesn't happen, you need to turn to something else to keep you going so you don't get discouraged. Since I'm down 10 pounds since getting back on track, maybe time for a little 'reward' tomorrow on my day off!! If we are not in such a deep freeze I may have to go buy myself something nice

Well it's weigh in day again. We shall see how much the pizza from the other night effected me. I'll guess right now, I'll have no loss. I feel like I really am eating more of a maintenance type of eating. I am pretty full when I am done with meals and typically when I'm trying to drop weight I finish my meals still a little hungry. So it may come to having to cut back my amounts of food. Not worrying too much about it just yet since so far I have been still losing.
You did great... Congratulations.
It is cold here in SC. and roads are frozen.
But regardless of the weather I always have a freezer full of meats and keto dishes. If nothing else - I have frozen fish and frozen veggies. And burgers. Good already cooked burgers. Sirloin burgers from Costco. Meat and spices. They are not low fat - but if I warm them up with a touch of water on a skillet (they are cooked- grilled) I can then used 2 layers of paper towels to get rid of some of the fat. If I need to.
