I hope you lost that 10 lbs. Brandi Girl. I still eat your Greek yogurt and ranch dressing with veggies or Slimfast chips.

Eddie-I tried for the Apollo but was turned down. My GI doc from many years ago (one of the best in the country) said he had success with it. Good luck to you. Keep us posted. thanks

Hela-Keep us posted with your optimism!

Topic: How is everyone doing?

Hi Botts:

I am up and down again. I lose for a while then I regain some. Then I relose those same lbs. I am not eating "junk" but still eating too much healthy food. I am back down to 212 lbs. from 228 lbs...again. I guess it is better than just gaining and gaining. I now have a $7,000 deductible again in 2017. The Apollo was turned down in 2016. I have to limit calories somehow. I find that if I eat 3 fruits, a salad and my veggie soup I eat fewer calories in a day. My foot surgery from last June has still not healed completely. It makes exercise difficult. I am looking forward to summer.

It sure is quiet around here. How is everyone else doing these days?

I'm officially 10 pounds away from my all time low!! . I have 39 days until our vacation and I am hoping to be down at least those 10 pounds if not more by then. Not sure if that will happen, but going to continue to try and meanwhile be proud and content!!

Just go into the forums and choose RNY. Then daily you will see a thread that says, "what on your menu today?" It will no doubt be under the "most active" area as it has typically well over 100 reply's!! I enjoy it and it really helps with idea's and keeping us accountable.

The first thing I did to get BOT was to completely cut all carbs out of my diet!! Carbs and sugar I should say. Eat basically protein only. For the first 2 weeks I didn't limit at all how much protein or how fatty the protein was (with my plan I must limit fats, for others they do not). After about the second week of no sugars and carbs your cravings should GREATLY dimini****hen you should be able to fine tune your diet to exactly what your doctor had you on post surgery. You have done this before you can do it again!! It will be so much harder this time around but doable for sure!! The RNY menu board seems to be by far the busiest so you might want to check it out for idea's and support.

Seems like the things that throw us for a loop, such as a move like you had, really knock us off our pins when we don't catch it.  Fortunately for you, you have caught yourself, now you just need to get your head back in the game so to speak. My story is similar though I didn't move. But massive life changes led me down the path I swore I wouldn't take and I found myself eating off plan, not finding time for exercise (which is totally no excuse), and to my horror the weight started piling up.

What I did was start telling myself I don't care if I don't feel like it, I WILL eat on plan, I WILL drink my water, I WILL take my vitamins, exercise, etc etc. Today I kicked myself back into a gym and had a talk and physical test with a trainer to see where I am as a starting point; I walked out an hour later feeling a just a whole lot better about myself because while I feel like I am back at square one (though I'm not really), at least I am on Day 1 which is a lot better than all the Day Zeroes I've had in the past year!

I do still log my food on My Fitness Pal, and now I have my food for the coming week mapped out. Getting back here on BOT is another step. I am talking to myself as I used to talk to my 5th graders, you have things you MUST do, and it is irrelevant if you feel like it or not. The thing is, success breeds success. The more you do things you know you should, even if you don't want...well the more you find yourself more willing to do them.  I am working on consistency, that is what made my WL a success in the first place.

Remember what led you to getting your surgery and your commitment then. Realize your commitment has to come from within, even when you don't see it or feel it...it's time for you to help you.  Stay in touch here, we really do need one another. And good luck!!
