Topic: confused about certain "rules"

I've been looking over all my old surgery information, before pictures, diet plans and discussing with a girlfriend who had surgery 3 years ago. The information she was given is very different than what I have so I was curious what info you were given, what rules you follow. The main discrepancies:

1. My info - eat only 3 meals a day. Her info - eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. (both - focus on protein first)

2. My info - no carbs until goal. Her info - wholegrain carbs in small amounts after protein consumed

3. She also eats quinoa because it's high in protein, but I'm not totally sure if this is just another carb to avoid?

Water rules and exercise are still the same.

Thanks for replying! I cannot believe how similar the post-babies weight loss is. By the time the kids were 18 months old, I was up 40 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight. How do you cope with time management and keep things organized? I feel like we are in chaos here all the time! LoL.

My twins are July 4th, yours? :)  (does that make me part American? lol)

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply! You are absolutely right on the preparation! As soon as that slips, I find the draw of the drive-thru so tempting! I'm going to try packing the protein in individual portions as soon as we are home from the store and get veggies cut up and ready to go ahead as well. Anything that saves time and follows "the rules" is only going to help me in the long run.

Topic: Thursday's eats........and comments..........;)

I started my "pre-op" 10 day prep eating yesterday.....you know,  the one you do just prior to surgery to shrink your liver.  I am changing it up a bit to include more protein and instead of just a shake for lunch, I am eating protein....about 3 oz.   Yesterday went well......got a little hungry at lunch, that is why I ate some protein.  Today, I have added more protein powder to my shake.  I won't weigh again until Friday, Jan. 23.......we will see if I can lose my holiday gain!!  I will let you know how I am doing.

todays eats....morning vits✅  Water started✅  And I have already walked 2 miles this morning !!  Woot !

breakfast........coffee/miralax.........protein induced shake

lunch..............3 oz. protein (either chicken or turkey with some cheese)......protein shake

dinner.............3 oz. grilled chicken, acorn squash (from Bountiful Baskets) and a salad

I hope everyone has a great, motivated day !!

Slow and steady !!!!  Have a Blessed Day !!!!!!

Snack - protein shake

Thought I could not eat soy for the next 30 days but doctor said no restrictions.

B - Atkins Advantage shake, Fuji apple

L - Taco and enchilada...Traveling for work and went for Mexican with some customers...didn't make the best choice, but managed to avoid the chips and the 95% of the rice on my plate.

S - Quest PB Cups

D - Green chicken soup, mini babybel cheese, 4 ritz crackers

S - if I have another snack will probably be a shake. Maybe I will skip bc I ate dinner late.

B-oatmeal blueberries scoop of protein powder

L-still eating my chicken soup and so glad because it is so cold

D-turkey burger and salad

S-deli roast beef 2 slices

S-not planned almonds and hard boiled egg

So I have not had dinner yet as I am still full from my unplanned mini meal.  I never know what to do.  Do I wait to see if I get hungry or plan dinner  anyway in a few hours.  The fear of maybe getting hungry is still there.  When will enough be enough?
