I think it is a selection of food your are eating that is the problem.
I could not even dream of eating bread. Sure i could eat 2 slices of bread with PB...and then my system would ask for more and more and more...
But eating 2-3 slices of bacon, 2-3 scrambled eggs, with some veggies...that would keep my BS very stable and i would be full for a few hours.
When i eat carbs - i can eat and eat and eat..and then i want to eat more.
Dense proteins, with some fat, with veggies - and 1 cup even now, 7 years post op can keep me full.
Drop the starches...or in the future you are not be dealing with 15-20 lbs gain, but more like 50-100...

you guys are the best..i simply needed to be reminded of the simplicity of it...it is the head part that gets to me..like not really being hungry... I READ TOO MANY DIETS and then let that confuse me ....instead of just simply being educated to things.. i mean i don't have to adopt every diet i read !! lol
thanks again
*Sigh* So here I am back after dinner with another eye opener.
I don't usually buy TV dinners. They usually have rice, pasta or spuds. I wanted something different so I looked around and found 2 that didn't have those ingredients. 1. Healthy Choice beef Merlot. 2. Atkins Chicken Broccoli Alfredo.
Voice in my head said go with the Atkins. It's Atkins thier stuff is usually OK and I really like Alfredo. It's Atkins so it is way better than the real stuff. I bought both but decided to eat the Atkins chicken. Here it comes...drum roll...Atkins has 330 calories!!! WTH!
I dug the Healthy choice out of the freezer and checked the calories - 180 calories. *sigh* Apparently I haven't learned the look before you eat lesson.
Each of us have our own way that works for us. The great thing is by sharing what each other does, we can help each other. If someone says something or does something that I like, I can incorporate that for myself - and vice versa.
As long as we're losing or maintaining, and healthy, that's the ultimate!

I agree with you. I can easily get compulsive about numbers on grams of this and grams of that. I'm a creature of habit so I generally know the grams of protein that I eat, and keep my complex carbs fairly low since I eat pretty much the same variety of foods. I put too much pressure on myself to keep up with the numbers and stay with ranges.
Keeping our heads in the game (to me) is a huge part of being/staying on track.

Today I'm proud of myself. It was not a perfect day but I will be keeping my calories below 1000, I drank some water and plan to drink a little more throughout the evening, I'm going to go for a walk, not far but still a walk, I DID have doritos today but opted for the small bag rather than a big bag and eating the whole thing lol. I didn't even get the grab bag but one of the little tiny bags instead. I only had two cups of coffee today instead of 6 or more. I also made tons of saurkraut and keilbasa. Since I don't eat 1/2 oz of keilbasa at a time but less, I will fill up on saurkraut which has next to no calories. I made enough that I can live off of it for the next couple of days. I'm very excited about that! Over all I think I did really good. I know to many of you it won't seem very good but for me this is an excellent day. I'm going to try walking for 20 min. I only walked for about 10 yesterday. It's really cold out today but it's going to be in the 40's tomorrow and sunday. I look forward to that because I want to make a good effort at walking.
That's why the group is Back On Track TOGETHER because we're all getting back and staying on track together.
