I had 1 'clean' day, but yesterday was bad. Today, I am getting BOT, planning my meals, working out, journalling and meditating. I set weekly goals in my journal, so this week I am working on getting all of my water in, 12k a day on my Fitbit, logging all my food in MFP. This alone has been hard for me.
Hoping you're doing well, Cathy. Short walks is a great way to work that knee. Take Care!!

There must have been something in the air yesterday as I allowed a few too many carbs reach out and grab me too. Did OK all day with 2 slices turkey bacon and small apple in AM, vegetable beef soup at lunch, and grilled chicken with salad at dinner, but late night I found myself mindlessly snacking on crackers. Stress eating...I have my re-certification paperwork done now so that should be over :>

Today:

B: Click

L: turkey roll ups with dill pickles

D: ground turkey sloppy joe, no roll, peas

S: small apple with almond butter

I'm still hanging in there.  Protein shakes for b and l.  Some kind of protein high meal (usually chicken) for dinner then raw veggies for mid day snack and another protein shake after dinner if I need it.  I want to get this extra weight off as fast as I can so I am not going to go out to eat if I can avoid it.  I know the first thing I would order is a baked potato with lots of butter.  So, I am hunkered down trying to stay focused and keep my head in the game.

Unless I have a protein shake for breakfast I struggle with any other kind of protein.  I don't do eggs in any form.  Scrambled eggs are so easy to get out and make at home but they are off the menu for me!

Ps...I lost a pound this morning!!!   Yee haw!!!

Ugh...I'm not having a great BOTT weekend! Over the holidays, my husband and I bought a $25 cheesecake factory gift card with a promo of 2 free cheesecake slices. Yesterday, we cashed in and I ordered a PASTA dish!!! Oh, one of the worst things at one of the worst places...followed by cheesecake!! The only thing I have going for me is that I got the lunch size and didn't come close to finishing and that we split the cheesecake between us (and it was really more like a 70/30 split), but still...more than a day's worth of calories in that meal. Sigh.

I had gotten more than 10 lbs of my regain off but the scale bumped up a good bit after that blip yesterday. Ah well, back on track today!!

both days sound like good plands to me! I ate not so good yesterday. had a scrambled egg w/veggies for breakfast, lunch was the burger patty from the center of a slider and some artichoke dip with chips and salsa, and dinner was some salad and 1/4 of a guacamole bacon burger.

today I plan on doing much better!
B: is scrambled eggs w/veggies in a bacon bowl( gotta try this thing out!)
L:power greens and maybe some tuna
D: will most likely be chicken and power greens

snacks I have strawberries and blueberries!

I made it through yesterday without grazing and sticking to 1000 calories. I managed to walk about 45 min total not all at once but in 15 min increments. I drank enough water that I'm starting to loose water weight. I'm back down to 194. 4 more pounds and I'll be at where I was before the water weight started. I have a lot more water to drink today because the saurkraut I'm eating is very high in sodium. I'm still retaining water because my socks are leaving marks and my hands and feet hurt from being swollen. I had no idea I had gained so much in water weight but apparently it was quite a bit or I wouldn't still be hurting after loosing 5 lbs in water. I'm supposed to be on water pills but my doctor forgot to refill them  this month so I haven't had them and I blew up like a balloon. I think I will be ok if I can keep upping my water intake. So I'm making small changes. I'm striving for two short walks a day and upping my water. I will be more diligent on my grazing when I get those two things down. I appreciate all of the support. I really do.

Hey BOTTers,

How is everyone doing?

I'm having a rough day today.  I ate more carb stuff last night than I normally do.  I had total knee replacement in December and while I'm better, it is a really rough pain day today.  We're having a couple of days of warm weather and it is almost 70 degrees today.  I'd love to take a walk but I'm not stable enough and can't walk very far.  By Spring, my goal is to be able to take short walks.

So I don't get into the carb stuff, here's my food log:

Saturday:

B - Coffee, 3 cups

L - Turkey sandwich

D - Salsa Chicken

S - Apple and 2 T. Peanut Butter

S - Frozen blueberries

Sunday:

B - Scramble of eggs, turkey bacon, bell peppers, onions

L - Finish my breakfast above

D - BBQ Chicken and green beans

S - Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich

S - Pear

Happy BOTTing!!

Cathy

I think it is a selection of food your are eating that is the problem.

I could not even dream of eating bread.  Sure i could eat 2 slices of bread with PB...and then my system would ask for more and more and more...

But eating 2-3 slices of bacon, 2-3 scrambled eggs, with some veggies...that would keep my BS very stable and i would be full for a few hours.

When i eat carbs - i can eat and eat and eat..and then i want to eat more.

Dense proteins, with some fat, with veggies - and 1 cup even now, 7 years post op can keep me full.

Drop the starches...or in the future you are not be dealing with 15-20 lbs gain, but more like 50-100...

Well, it makes me feel better that others can eat lots of these types of foods, also, I do feel full on just a little protein and you're so right about getting back on track sooner rather than later. Doing all the BASICS and now taking this journey 1 day at a time - holding on for dear life. Thank You!!
