I am also going back for Iron Infusions this week.
I usually do take a Benadryl pill just in case but I do get very sleepy.
The Infusion session is about 45minutes for me.
I usually get my appts around 3pm therefore I don't need to go back to work and go straight to bed.
You will be fine. Give us an update on how it went.
Good Luck!
Just a quick update.
Well, I am going this week to see my Hemo doctor this week because I will be receiving Iron infusions.
Kathy thanks for the advice on taking the Vitron C vitamins. I started taking them on Wednesday night. I FEEL a LITTLE BETTER.
I read the reviews on these vitamins and they are AWESOME.
Thanks everyone.
I'm in the same place. I got back into eating chips and chocolate like I knew better. I've gone back to tracking my food. I'm trying to concentrate on protein, calories, and water. No snack foods. I was exercising alot, but fell off the wagon about a year ago. I really don't want to constantly exercise the rest of my life although I know it makes me feel better. I feel that right now I would rather spend the time with my daughter before she goes off to college next year. So, I'm just going to start walking and doing small stuff one day at a time. I think the more I stress out about it the worse I feel and it is a vicious cycle. I'm prone to depression, so I have to remind myself daily that I'm happy, healthy and have a wonderful family that loves me. I think the hardest part of this journey is learning to love yourself. Glad you posted because I also believe support groups are so important.
hey Stephanie...thanks for checking on me...infusion is tomorrow... i will let you guys know
i am sitting here just thinking how did I get to this place GAiNING 30 lbs. I had surgery in 07 and until about a year ago I have kept to the rules and stayed close to a good weight for me. It just seems like lately all my old bad habits have come back. Eating chex mix mix sugar free cookies! So today I the day to stop. Any advice would be welcome.
I have been hospitalized three times since July for hypoglycemia. I am 12 years post op RNY. I am trying to lose the last of my steroid weight gain, I have about 25 more pounds to go. I am eating exactly as the dietician told me to. I'm getting in all my protein, correct number of carbs, and testing my blood sugar four times a day. I am eating six small meals a day. But I am still having trouble with low blood sugar. Rarely is my sugar over 85, even after I have eaten! Does anyone else experience this? In the hospital they even accused me of taking glimiperide, like I was purposely lowering my blood sugar! I'm not CRAZY and not an attention seeker!!!!!! I had to quit nursing school for the semester because of being hospitalized and it cost me lots of money, not to mention pushed back my graduation date! Does anyone else have any helpful hints as to how to deal with this? I'm doing all that I know to do!
Thanks,
Stephanie
So how did you do? Hopefully everything went fine and you are well on your way to feeling great again! I'm one of the lucky ones that don't have any reactions to my infusions. I get them three to four times a year.
Stephanie
I did that two weeks ago and it helped calm the obsessive thoughts down. Since then I have been doing a fairly low carb plan of under 20 carbs. I lost about 5 pounds so far. Drink a lot of water as well. Getting through the first day is the hardest.
Today I'm working on liquids only. I'm not sure if this is something that my Doc or Nut would approve of or suggest but I'm getting desperate. Even more so than before. My weight is back up to 195 and did not wake up swollen. I can't handle this bouncing back and forth and I'm tired of the mindless eating. I've had 4 glasses of water today and my breakfast was a protein shake. I plan to have two more today and that's it. I don't want to do any broth because I always get super swollen when I drink even a glass of it. My stomach is really sick today, not sure if it's from the protein or what but I'm sticking to it. If I could do it in order to have the surgery almost two years ago I can do it now. I'm hoping that it shrinks my tummy a little and makes me realize why and when I'm mindless eating. I hope this gets me back on track or sets me up to better get back on track.
B- 2 egg omelete
L-small salad with deli sliced roast beef
D-chicken with spinach
I weigh and measure all my food and the above is 13 carbs. Not too much in the way of exercise today. I am just feeling run down.
