Back On Track Together
Hi
I haven't been on this site in some time. So I wanted to reintroduce myself. I had gastric sleeve in 2010. I orginally lost almost 100 pounds (306 to 210) but have regained/lost 40 pounds about 4 or 5 times now. I'm super disappointed and discouraged. I need to get back on track but have lost my way.
I developed severe GERD about 5 years back and I learned then that the surgeon that did my surgery all those years ago left a larger bottom which is creating the increase GERD which only proves it's even more important to take the weight off now to decrease the abdominal pressure which is creating more GERD symptoms.
I am seeing a weight loss specialist (the NP from my surgeons office) she has started me on Lamira and Prozac. Which I haven't noticed a huge difference .
Any tips on how to get back on track and stay motivated would be welcomed.
Yippee ... someone else in the group. If I knew how to keep weight off with a not normal RNY or in your case a not normal gastric sleeve I would write a book. It sounds so simple but moving a little more and eating a little less consistently will make us lose weight. But how to not eat that extra 400 calories is very difficult for me.
As far as the gerd (I have an ulcer) and after 7 years of trying different meds, I tried 2 Peptobismal tablets at a friend's house and it helped a lot.
What I like about this group is that people write encouragement or nothing...no bashing!
Welcome...you made my day! Tri
