I need help

Hello, I had the VSG 6 years ago. I was a lightweight, surgery weight was 194. I got down to 142 (never made goal of 135). I had been losing for about 15 months before I started gaining again. Today I'm 188. Yes, that's right. I gained 46 pounds.

I never built the good habits I needed to be successful and I have no one to blame but myself. I still have restriction, so at least there's that tool in my favor.

The thing that's getting to me now is my blood sugar and A1C. I just saw the doctor after doing labs last week. My A1C was 6.3. Up significantly from last time and only .2 away from being full blown diabetic. He said he's sorry to tell me this before the holidays, but it's time to get STRICT.

So. I'm just asking for a place to vent, support, boot in my a$$, accountability, whatever it takes. I joined Weigh****chers and have been doing well this past week.

Has anyone else felt like a failure? What did it take for you to get back on track?

Thanks for reading.

When I reached my highest weight after  I regained 30 lbs - my doc got real with me.

I really commuted to good - high protein - fat and some carbs eating lifestyle and got serious. No more "it's just a bite, or a taste".

I stoped drinking any alcohol, drinking (sipping) with meals. Removed all grains , any dairy, and non real food (like protein bars, or protein shakes)

I started eating real did - meat, eggs. Fish, and non starchy veggies. Added good fat - butter, avocado. Coconut and nuts) and limit overall calories.

I dropped 18 lbs in fist 3.5 months... The rest - that took me much longer... But it was doable.

Keep working at it.  If something works then do it again the next day.  Forgive failures quickly because guilt only leads to comfort eating.  Know that you are not alone. Tri
