Back On Track Together
July 31
Good evening botts
I am moving a little more every day. Today I went to the gym and rode 1 mile on the bike. Then I swam 100 yds. We went out for lunch and I had a Greek salad with vinegar and oil on the side. I brought home the pita triangles. I shopped at Sam's club for 2 hours. My foot feels really great in my new Sketchers. Last night in decreased my Lantus insulin to 16 units and I still woke up shaking in the middle of the night with my BS in the 80s. I ate buttermilk, an egg and some strawberries. I guess tonight I will try 15 units. I have regular insulin to take if my BS goes above 150 before a meal, but I haven't needed that in weeks. I am still eating to use up the insulin I am taking. I am trying to use insulin to absorb the food I eat. Extra insulin makes me more hungry so I will keep working on it until I figure it out or I can get into a diabetic educator. She will probably tell me to do what I am doing. Cutting back faster could make my BS go too high. Tomorrow starts a new month. There are only 5 months until the end of the year. I really want this year to be the year I reach my permanent weight...whatever that turns out to be. How about you? Tri
My meal plan today:
B: Jimmy dean delight 260
L: lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, oil, vinegar, feta cheese, gyro meat 450
D: veggie soup, chicken breast, brown rice, quinoa pasta 375
S: 400 calories of something
1485
Have you look at this guy? When I had an issue with severe RH - I used his methods to control my BS- not allowing it to get high enough for my body to overreact with insulin... I had to learn to eat food that woudl either not affect my BS or affect it very slowly. The advice I got from my nut- was to eat carbs and to eat every 2 hours.. making sure I wake up in a middle of teh night to eat- so I don't crash in my sleep.. ugh.. That made me gain weight and did not stop my low BS episodes... someone suggested dr Bernstein's book and within a week my BS was stable and i slowly started losing the regain do to carbs I had to eat to prevent the crashes...
