Back On Track Together
Would love to lose 20 lbs
Hi everyone,
Im over 10 years out from having RNY. For the longest time I wouldn't gain weight no matter what then something went haywire with my thyroid, middle age happened and here I am trying to lose these 20 lbs. I think it would be great to have support! Anyone else doing fitness tracking? What eating plan are you following? Sabrina
I follow If with LCHF way of eating...works good for me.. slow but steady..

Good morning Sabrina
I try to eat healthy food only and regular portion sizes. Sometimes it works other times I go off track. I move about 20 minutes every hour. Weight is coming off very slowly. My favorite gym workout is bike, walk, swim. That uses a lot of different muscles without straining anything. Planning my food here helps me a lot. I don't have any unhealthy food in the house. When I overeat on healthy food though it becomes unhealthy. My goal is to get back under 200 lbs. and never go past that mark again. Good wishes to you. Tri
Good morning Ladies,
Thank you for the responses, it seems a lot of people who are out several years disappear from these forums. I love to hear how others are doing and love to stay in touch with everyone! I think the struggle for me is getting enough of the right things into my diet...morning usually starts with coffee, eggs with spinach/veggies, lunch is usually protein and salad/veggies, dinner grilled lean meats and veggies again...now to keep the bad out :)
I can follow low carb diet or low fat diet. But I can't follow low carb - low fat diet. Too many lean proteins, not enough fat - makes me really hungry.
I learned that increasing the fat on low carb dietbwas a key not only to weight loss, but also how I felt when on a diet. Higher fat - provides satiety - makes me less hungry and I don't "cheat".
Adding avocado, nuts, nut butters, olives, even good quality mayo was a key for me.
My typical meal has to be balanced : I.e for every 20 gr of proteins I would try to get 10-20 gr of fat, and 10gr of carbs... I avoided grains, and starchy carbs.
