Back On Track Together
Motivation

Wondering what types of things others do for motivation to eat well and move more? Over the past month or so I have been using this site much more. I normally start my days reading/posting and then again come to visit in the evening while watching tv. I also try to look on Pinterest for tips and recipes. Yesterday morning I put on a shirt I have not worn in a month and the way it hung from me was enough motivation to encourage me through the whole day!! Boredom and emotional eating still seem to be my biggest obstacles.
My motivation:
- my gut health (low pain, low or no gas, not smelly gas)
- my back pain - the heavier I am the more my sciatica bothers me
- my clothes..I like my clothes..
- last but not least - my doc..I have 2 that really make sure I stay on track.. one time I regained up to 178...my PCP called me obese..(I was still wearing size 8-10) and he told me I need to lose 15 lbs.. I did.. he made sure I stayed on track by seeing me every 3 months for a while...

The hardest thing for me really changing my eating and exercise habits. I love foods that aren't good for me. I can't keep them in the house. Yesterday I was eyeing up a small bag of potato chips at the register. If I follow the plan I make in the morning I am ok. If I eat 4 veggies and 3 fruits I eat fewer calories overall. Accepting a < 1 lb. weight loss in a week is difficult but they add up over time. Vacations kill me because temptations are everywhere. I have a lot of aches and pains, so cleaning in 10 to 20 minutes at a time works for me. I actually set the timer on the microwave and tally them up a piece of paper. I have the best gym and I need to go more often. it is 5 minutes from my home and open 24 hours a day...no excuses. Best wishes to us for success. Tri

I have the same issue's. My gym is only a short drive from my home but I use the excuse that I work so many long hours I don't want to either get up an hour earlier than I already do or get home an hour later! But I know that in honesty I could at least go a couple of days a week. It doesn't have to be every single day or not at all. I also have been thinking a lot about our up coming 'vacation' and how I am going to deal with it! My boss is taking everyone from our veterinary hospital to the conference in Vegas. I'm trying not to worry about it and for now am telling myself I will just be choosing protein's and salads while there. My water intake is a HUGE problem most days. I HATE water to start with so I normally use those flavor packs. But still fall very short of what I should get in most days. Not good! And I have no doubt while in Vegas it will be even worse. But I have several weeks yet to work on that and to drop a few more pounds I hope. We Can do this and we Are doing this! Thanks for the support.
I do much better on vacation than at home. I deal with gas and pain if I eat food that are not on my plan so that does ruins a great time.
I am leaving on vacation in 3 days... I have to be super good until then. We are going to hawaii so it is a very long flight. There is nothing worse than bad gas while you are stuck on a plane ... been there.
then the vacation... we want to be on a beach and be active - so gas and belly troubles are not an option... plus having gas is not so romantic .... lol...
I probably not only will not gain any - but I plan on losing some...
water - I found that I love diet tonic... most days I drink that diluted... 30 % tonic - res****er... but some days I just want the tonic...
