Back On Track Together
Posting rather than snacking
I'm going to try a new strategy by posting here instead of eating from being tired.
We had bad weather last night with tornado warnings and tornado touch downs close by. Our weather radio kept going off all night long so sleep (at least for me) wasn't happening. I stayed up until 3:45 a.m. this morning, and wasn't able to sleep except a couple of hours. I'm tired today which is a big trigger for me to eat something to feel better. Even when I type "eat something to feel better" is so absurd but that's what happens when I'm tired or sick.
I decided to do a "what's up" post right now instead of waiting for our daily check in thread.
I love to loom and also started the adult coloring about a year ago. I'm committing here that I'm going to color until dinner and then bed. I have an incredibly busy week this week so I must feel good and be at the top of my game. I'm taking off for a few days after work on Friday so I want to get lots of work and personal stuff done. No time for feeling lousy and being off track.
Thanks for reading. I already feel better.

Sounds like you had a scary night.
Eating always makes me feel better temporarily, but not a good solution! Posting sounds like a great idea.
I was thinking of learning to knit or crochet to keep my hands busy. Love to read, but can snack and read at the same time. Never heard of adult coloring, sounds interesting.
Hope you have a good day.

Thanks to posting, I didn't give in to eating!! Honestly, posting that was major in not eating. I'm going to continue to do that. It really worked!!!
I've been coloring for about a year. I'm not very artistic but it has been fun and keeps my mind and hands (not to eat****upied. I am a perfectionist so at first it was stressful as far as making it beautiful and "perfect". I've worked through that and it has become fun. Between loom knitting and coloring, they've helped me to stay on track and get in the "zone".
Thanks for your support!

I can so relate to fatigue and mindless eating. I struggle with this every time I work. My blessing is I am only working per diem now, so rather than three 12 hr shifts per week, I work just one generally. Still a challenge, but more manageable.
I've been reading about the adult coloring and it's a great idea. I found some free printable mandala designs online that I copied to get started. I also used to cross stitch and that would be great to get back to. Busy hands and all...
Good luck everyone.
I use my time on OH (and netflix..let's be real) to work on my daily fluid intake. I also chew chocolate calcium chews. If there is food nearby I will eat it.
I miss the big storms. I grew up in Oklahoma and my father was fascinated by weather and shared that love with me. We use to go watch them and also there was a lake nearby that you would see them starting up. My son was 4 before he heard thunder. Seattle has sedate weather.
