Good morning,

I had sugery in 2010 and this past year I have really struggled and 30 pounds is just no longer acceptable.

Got back on track in March, but finding it difficult to stay positive. Losing the regain is happening, but struggling emotionally and hormonally.

I am glad I am not alone in this battle.

Thanks for letting me join the group.

Welcome to BOTT.  I like your username of italianspice.

You're in the right place to lose your regain and to get/stay on track.  It is great that you're losing!!

If you want and are comfortable sharing what's going on with you, you'll find lots of support here.  Like you, I'm going through a tough situation and having a hard time staying on track.  I made a post here and I received lots of support and great suggestions that have helped me and made a difference being on track.

You are definitely not alone!!

Cathy

I am finding for me the hardest part of the losing weight is finding food/meal choices. I search the web all the time for new recipes to try and that does help! But my husband and I do very low carb with the exception of carbs from vegetables. When I get tempted to eat poorly I try and remind myself how good I felt physically and mentally when my weight was 30 pounds lower!! I want to feel that way again :( I went to the gym yesterday, first time in MONTHS and today I can hardly move! All I did was the eliptical and treadmill. But I am going back again today! I want the benefit of not only lowering my calorie intake to help the weight come off but also burning extra calories while toning. Wish me luck as I do all of you!! Together we can do this :D Have a GREAT day!

Hi Brandi,

Hope your soreness goes away soon. Maybe it will work out when you go to gym today😀. I walked yesterday, first time in weeks. It was pretty outside and it made my dog happy. My biggest problem is snacking in the evening. I do good all day then blow it with snacks before bed. I made the decision not to eat after 6:30. Last night I knew the kid's had pizza in the fridge. I wanted it so bad but I knew I would have to chart it so I didn't eat any. I have to lose this weight cause my clothes are getting tight and I refuse to buy bigger size. Knowing that others are in the same boat sure helps.

Have a great day everyone!

Amie_Lynn,

I did my workout at the gym again and REALLY feel it now but as long as I can work and move I tell myself feeling it means it's working :D I don't get home until after 6pm so I have to eat dinner later. But in a way I like that because I don't have to sit and think about food for 4 hours before I go to bed. I try my hardest not to have "bad" foods in the house! If they are there they are going to temp and torture me. It is good you are monitoring how your cloths fit!!! I wear scrubs to work (and around the house most the time-haha) which is NOT a good thing for helping  you notice when cloths fit tighter!

Hello!

I am so happy to find this group.  I had VSG in 2010 and I lost 68lbs but now I am up 25!  OMG, I can't believe that I allowed myself to get to this place again.  Since January - I've had my resolution to get back on track.  Now it's April and I've actually gained weight.  This is just crazy.  I KNOW what I am doing wrong.  I KNOW... but how to I get back on track?  I try and try but I don't have the same wherewithal I had following surgery.

I am happy to read posts from Cathy, Brandi, Amie Lynn, Bonnie, Scrappy Love, and Maria!  It's great to know that we are not alone.  That's step one - to understand that we are not abnormal and that we can band together (no pun intended ) :)  Then we have to be here to support each other through the good the bad and the ugly.  At least I KNOW that I need you all to help me.

Before I said that I know what I do wrong - I eat some carbs (not a lot believe it or not), eat a bit of sweets, and I drink wine.  Also, my weight gain really came on when two things in my life happened... I switched jobs and now I work out of my home.  So there is almost no exercise in my life.  Next, I had an accident and as I healed and afterwards I comforted myself through food.  Now, I have no excuses.  I want to be held accountable.  But why do I need others to do this?  My "tool" still works but my brain doesn't.

HELP!  :)

Hey Ruthie,

Glad your here. I'm not good at giving advice; however, this is a great site/group to get back on track. Like you I've been trying to lose weight. First it was 5lbs,10lbs, then it jumped to 16lbs when I tried a weight loss program( wasn't sure if I could mention name but it's a national one). Enough of that! Now I'm just doing the basics as so many on here suggest. I lost two pds this week so the water thing does make a difference. I feel a lot less hungry too.

You can do it. I have faith in you. Remember it will take a little time. It didn't come on overnight (although it feels like it). Your brain has already kicked in cause your here.

Take care,

Amie
