Hello,
I'm Brandi and have not used the Obesity Help site in well over a year. Since then I have gained 30 pounds back :( Over the past 2 weeks I have tried to go back to the basics and lose the weight once again and for good!! It is SO much harder now than the first time. I feel as though I no longer have a 'tool' to help me so it is all on me to be in control :/ But I just remind myself I did it before and how GREAT I felt when I was lighter. I am hoping to meet others here who are in the same situation and won't judge as I am finding many people in my daily life are doing who know I had WLS, (the EASY way out as THEY like to call it).
Hi Brandi - You're right about losing regain. It is harder than it was right after we've had surgery. However, we can lose regain.
Absolutely no judgment here with us. BOTTers have no judgement here because we share the same of regain and being on track.
You have a great mindset about how GREAT you felt when you were lighter. Remember that - put it on post-it's and put them on your fridge, in your kitchen, on your computer....anywhere that you spend time, post-it there.
Join in on our daily thread about what's up and eats. For me, the what's up has been helpful to share here and to commit my food.
I'm so glad that you're a BOTTer!

Hi I'm Amie. I had RNY in November 2009. My weight started creeping up last October. I am now 16 lbs over goal. I am trying not to drink before and after eating (started yesterday). This is something I had never done. Yesterday I felt I was continually watching clock (ok drink wait, wait, look at clock, ok now eat ugh). I found this site yesterday and enjoying all the info. I look forward to support and be supported.
*I had originally put my WLS in 2011 it was actually in 2009. Don't know what I was thinking geesh.

Hi Amie_Lynn,
Welcome to BOTT - I'm glad you joined us and introduced yourself. I've been a drinker with my meals pre-op so it was a hard habit to break. One of the things that helped me was to imagine your pouch as a funnel. We want to feel that sense of satiety (fullness) for as long as possible. When we drink with our meals, it essentially flushes away the food that we've eaten AND the satiety so we feel hungry again much sooner. That image of drinking flushing my food out of my pouch helped me. I hope it helps you too.
You can post here anything at anytime so we can support you.
Happy BOTTing, Cathy

Cathy you have such good advice. I have been struggling this week especially with popcorn, my fav snack. I got way thirsty. I have noticed I'm not as hungry which is good cause sometimes I went hungry, which we all now that is a recipe for disaster. This site is amazing. Wish I had found it sooner.
Have a good day!
Amie
Weight regain is common....we all understand and relate to how you're feeling. Regain comes on fast and generally leaves slower. You've gained 30, however, it isn't 50 or more. 30 pounds is doable.
We have a thread where we share what is going on in our lives and we "commit" our eats for the day. Check it out and post every day. It helps me a lot. This is a private group so we're able to share here with other BOTTers.
Welcome to BOTT - I'm glad you're here!
