Hugs to you.....Since I haven't had an iron infusion, I did a search.  I don't know if these will help or cover what you'll have but below are some links:

long term- more energy - eventually

short term - we all are so different... and respond differently to things.

my body is super sensitive. I had minor leg cramps, minor belly - gut cramps.. Felp like  alight fever the evening after the infusion... Little nausea... but most effect were minor...

I chose very light diet the day before, the day off and the day after.  Some of the iron we get ends up in our gut (liver filters it and dumps into small intestines), so I choose not to take any calcium or calcium rich food in the day of and the day after the infusion, to maximise iron absorption. I also added some extra vitamins, (C, multi) plus I make sure I loaded on my proteins for a few days.  Iron binds with proteins - so i wanted to make sure I have enough in my blood.. (protein shakes based on coconut milk) .

The iron that ends up in the bowels - can be constipation - so I made sure I had good BM (I used Miralax).gentle exercise helped with some minor muscles cramps. so did hot bath...

I did not need anyone.  Most people do fine.

I am not sure what iron they will give your and the procedure they use. Best ask them.

They gave me iv benadryl and steroids to prevent allergic reaction.  Benadryl knocked me out for the procedure...but by the time they finished the iv iron i was awake And ok.   I took coffee with me to have after the procedure.   Plus snacks since the whole thing lasted app 3-4 hours.

I had as bookl with me, and my tablet, but i mostly slept during most of the time.

Wear very comfortable clothes.

They should make sure you are ok before you leave.

You can call them and ask if they recommend you have a driver with you.  If you feel uneasy, and want to have someone with you the first time - go ahead and bring someone . just make sure it is someone who you don't mind being with for a most of the day. And who is patient..since the whole thing will take a few hours.

Btw - i had my infusion in a cancer center...and there they try to make everyone who had treatment very comfortable. Recliners,  pillows, blankets...etc... But visitors - people who came with. Just got simple chairs...not very comfortable...

So how did you do?  Hopefully everything went fine and you are well on your way to feeling great again!  I'm one of the lucky ones that don't have any reactions to my infusions.  I get them three to four times a year.
