ok when i had my surgery i was told 95 g of protein at least...but is there too much..i heard protein can be turned into fat if it is too much...

are the macros the same for wls patients as non wls ... so confusing.

this says i should eat 1946 cal and 118 protein a day if i am doing a low carb to loose..that seems high...idk

That seems high to me too.  I eat an average of 60-70 grams a day.

I've talked with a few nutritionists and heard a rough way to determine protein grams.  If a person weighs less than 250 pounds, they can take their weight and divide it by 2 and that is the number of protein grams for them.

I hope that helps.

I don't know if it is right or wrong but this is what I am doing.  I don't' count anything but calories and protein.  I can't count everything.  It's too much pressure.  I'm focusing on protein with my eye on calories.  I'm trying to make it as easy on myself as I can without driving myself nuts.  Keeping my head in the game is the most important for me.

i think as long as we are loosing ( if needed) and healthy then what works for us is individual ...but that sounds so much easier..

Each of us have our own way that works for us.  The great thing is by sharing what each other does, we can help each other.  If someone says something or does something that I like, I can incorporate that for myself - and vice versa.

As long as we're losing or maintaining, and healthy, that's the ultimate!

I agree with you.  I can easily get compulsive about numbers on grams of this and grams of that.  I'm a creature of habit so I generally know the grams of protein that I eat, and keep my complex carbs fairly low since I eat pretty much the same variety of foods.  I put too much pressure on myself to keep up with the numbers and stay with ranges.

Keeping our heads in the game (to me) is a huge part of being/staying on track.

you guys are the best..i simply needed to be reminded of the simplicity of it...it is the head part that gets to me..like not really being hungry... I READ TOO MANY DIETS and then let that confuse me ....instead of just simply being educated to things.. i mean i don't have to adopt every diet i read !! lol

thanks again
