Back On Track Together
Seems the theme, Getting back on track :)
Thank you for welcoming me to the group. I will write a full fledge intro tomorrow, but long story short, I had Roux-en-y 5/29/2009. My highest weight was 289, my lowest weight was 171. I felt good at 171, but really had a goal of reaching 160. I have slowly let carbs come back into my regular eating habits!!!! And of course protein has been low. So of course, I've had regain. Right now I'm at 196 lbs. My plan to get back on track is to do 2 protein drinks daily, a snack, and a meal. I was thinking of doing this for a week or two sort of as a detox. My question to you is where do you like to buy your supplements and vitamins from? Best prices, etc? I look forward to learning from and with you.
Sincerely,
Sara

I buy regular ole store bought multi-vitamins. I buy the adult gummies. For my vitamin D I order from Vitalady.com She has had the surgery and her vitamims are made for us. I do not absorb Iron so I don't take it. When needed I get and infusion. Had a series 5 years ago and haven't needed one since. Vitalady is reasonable. I have purchased online from Bariatric eating as well. Their vitamins are also made with us in mind, if memory serves they are a little more expensive than vitalady.
Welcome, you story sounds a lot like mine. Never quit got to my goal weight and let the weight creep back. I don't take vitamins, just if I feel a cold or something coming on.
I was chiming in because I'm doing a variation of Dr. Oz's 2 week detox diet. Warm lemon water as soon as I get up, lots of water, Protein shake for breakfast. 1/2 c. quinoa or brown rice per day as only carbs and the rest is fish or chicken and non-starchy veggies and hummus, pickles, unsalted nuts for snacks. I used to eat alot of cheese and I think that is what got me in trouble. This isn't terrible. Just miss my Georgia Sweet Tea but glad to be losing again!
For my multi vitamin I use the Solaray 2x daily iron free multienergy (I buy it at Vitamin Shoppe) this was the multi recommended by the nutritionist when I originally had surgery. I get the sublingal B12 from various places (still like Trader Joe's best) and I just buy generic calcium with vitamin d. I use the Vitron C at night for my iron (purchased at CVS).
Ms. Court....thank you for the tips..... Do you do protein shakes or bars, or do you get all of your protein from your food? How much protein do you get per day?
Thanks much,
Sara
