Two roads diverged....

And I knew I was standing smack in the middle of the crossroads.

I lost 105 lbs. after my RNY surgery in 2009. And mostly did ok with maintaining....until the past year. By November 2014, I was up to 190 lbs.

35 lbs. gained. 1/3 or my total weight loss....back on. And I knew I had to make a decision.

Either tackle the regain...or watch the scale continue to go up and claim that I didn't know what was happening.

And so I considered the options (because doing it myself didn't seem to be a very helpful approach - the bad habits were lying in wait for me, ready to trip me up at every turn). My choice was to work with a dietitian and get back to the practices that I need to put into place.

Logging food. Lots of water. Protein first. Limited refined carbs. Limited caffeine. Exercise. Limited fats.

And I've lost 12 lbs. Not done by any stretch, but this has been a serious wake up call for me. I'm hoping to continue in the right direction and welcome all comments and support from this team!

We KNOW what to do! We CAN do this!

Love the crossroads reference. It really is a choice isn't it.  I guess put our head in the sand or take an action to change.  Congratulations on choosing to take back your life.  The later is like sleep walking through life  So happy that you have made the decision to care for yourself.  I support your efforts.

Good for you!!! :-) May I ask how you log food? Do you write in a notebook, keep on online food journal...??? This is something I also NEED to do, and I'm wondering what format you find helpful.
