today starts "Holiday Food Fest" at work............everyday this week different departments are assigned to share holiday goodies with all of us.   The fare consists of Christmas cookies, candy, finger foods, jalapeño poppers, chips/dips, all the way to homemade tamales to chili.  You name it, someone brings it !!!

It is an extremely tempting arrangement because it is spread out in the office where we all have to go.  I have worked here twelve years, and I have never been able to avoid the temptation.  I do my best to only eat small portions, but a bite here, a bite there adds up !!  Thank goodness that it is only 4 days and only once a year !!

todays guilty pleasure was......two jalapeño poppers, crackers/cheese cubes/turkey, crackers/cream cheese and jalapeno jelly, 4black olives, a small piece of fudge, a bite of red velvet cake..... I still have the fudge...... But still there is disaster written all over this !!   Gotta be more diligent the rest of the week !!

i am skipping lunch today........full from the junk I ate

no snack

dinner............eggs/cheese

snack............coffee

heres to a better plan tomorrow !!

Slow and steady !!!!  Have a Blessed Day !!!!!!

Good luck next4 days. You need it.

Yesterday we had my BF family Christmas dinner.  I forgot to bring my food...(that normally I have with me just in case)....

they had the southern dinner... rolls, and gravy, mac&cheese, potato salad, pasta salad, beans, etc.etc etc.. plus all rich desserts... including cheesecake and chocolate pie...and lots of cookies and sweet tea, and spiced (sweet) cider...etc etc... there was also ham - drenched in glaze...(very very sweet)

And they had ham... that was the only thing I can eat some off..and a Tbs or green beans...

I was hungry.. since I forgot to eat all day...(the dinner was at 4).. .

But I had some food (at 8pm) when I got home...

Overall - stayed on and below plan for eating...and right on plan for walking-exercise...

it does not look like I can gain this season... but I rather have that than pain and horror of getting sick... enough of that...

Like is a journey.. I eat at least 3 meals a day..so if i skip 1 -or 2 some days - I am sure i will be fine...

in a way - food sensitivity and intolerance keeps me accountable ... and on track... in a way I benefit from RNY...and I can keep my weight down because I can't eat most things that will make me gain weight...

Hi everyone,

I like that people on this group eat real food. I belong to another group which really pushes 5 shakes a day plus one meal. They sell the shakes but they are too expensive for me.

My eats today are not good at all today but here it is:

Breakfast- egg in a hole

Lunch-dollar menu chicken sandwich , small fries, plain iced tea

Snack-2 chocolate chip cookies

Dinner- chicken in gravy over toast

Ok today was bad plus I'm helping my sister bake cookies later!
Tomorrow will be better

The very first time I met my surgeon, he said. "My goal is to help you lose your weight and after that I want you to be able to eat, a sandwich, a hamburger, a hotdog......notice that I am saying A sandwich, A hamburger, A hotdog....I want you to able to eat normal and not DIET for the rest of your life."  I loved him for that.....I thought I would never be able to eat "normal" again !  I seldom eat a whole sandwich, but once in a while I do.   I do try to put protein first and limit portions, but I don't starve myself and I eat what I ate prior to surgery, just smaller portions.
