Back On Track Together
I need all of you!
I can't believe that last time I posted I had only gained 10 lbs. I now have 38 lbs to lose....48 if you count down to original weight loss of 214 lbs. down to 155 lbs. I have been retired now for about 2 years and had two knee replacements. I am now lazy and have become a GRAZER!!!! Yes, I'm 5 years out and have gained a total of 48 lbs. Although, I must say, I went on a cruise (my first and last...'sigh) and gained only 1 lb.
I want to get back on track but don't want to do it alone. You are now my wonderful support group! Thank you, ahead of time, for your good words. It is so good to communicate with others that understand what is happening!
Hi.. Welcome to the group.
Posting daily even just for me made me think about my food choices.....

Welcome to our group.......I post almost daily to try to keep myself accountable....I have good intentions every morning....I don't always stick to them, but at least I try. If I didnt make myself aware of good eating everyday, I would slip down that slippery slope of weight gain even faster !! I use myfitnesspal and it helps me see where I go wrong (or right)...
I am 4 years out (Nov. 15 is my surgerversary). I never lost ALL my weight. I never expected to lose down to "insurance weight"....I weighed 180 graduating from high school.....that was my goal.....I got to 200 in a year and the past three years I have gained 30 pounds...UGH !! Working on losing these 30 pounds IS difficult. I believe that if I didn't post on here, that I would have gained ALOT more.
Take care of you and post often....we can do this !!!
Welcome HOME! That's how I feel about this forum. I too am a lazy grazer. I stress eat and even after everything I've learned about weight loss, I slip back into those old habits so easily.
Right now, my entire family is on a 20 lb challenge. My Mom's cardiologist met with us after her most recent procedure and enlisted our help in managing her lifestyle challenges. She needs 30 minutes of mild/moderate exercise everyday and to lose at least 20 lbs in the next 6 months. We've already got a family vacation planned to the Florida keys for Memorial Day so everyone has jumped on the bandwagon and wants to look great in their bathing suits. For those fortunate few who don't need to lose weight...they're toning up. Family dinners have been revamped to feature heart healthy dishes and we've decided to try lots of new recipes and foods. Sunday nights are weigh ins. I'll keep yall posted.
In this journey, we're never alone.

I am in the same boat as you. I gained about 45 pounds in last 8 months. I have been seeing my surgeon about getting back on track and seem to continue to eat poorly and drink sweet tea . This is bad for me!!!!!! I am was accepted into nursing school starting in January and I am worried that my food choices will get worse. I have set alarms on my phone to make sure that I log in here daily to read positive statements!
It's interesting how we know what we should do but let our head lead the action. I did well for two days and then slid downhill. Yes, you will have LOTS of pressure in nursing school. Seems they try to weed out the weak of heart. Hang in there! You can win both ways. We just have to be good to ourselves. I'm trying again tomorrow. Maybe I should log on everyday too. It is hard for me to connect online. Don't know why. I wish you the best!
