Back On Track Together
Tuesday cafe and cardio...
We are expecting the storm to hit us in SC any minute now . ugh. It is not going to be nice. Lately i get so tired...every evening i crash... Not sure why..my iron is good, so my other numbers... But proteins may be low...need to eat more chicken..
Today i made my first mayo.....so easy when using immersion blender. Less than 5 min. And my mayo don't have any soy, or sugar, or other crap they put in that lately. Next time i need to add some more salt and pepper. So good.
Eats today:
Coffee w Miralax x 2
Tea and water...
Chicken salad with cucumbers, pickles and mayo
Same.
Veggie chicken frittata.
Some nuts...maybe...
Lately i eat to many fruits and nuts. I don't think that agree with me... I feel almost drugged.. But that is a few things that i still indulge in...Maybe it is time to cut them out and see if i can get more energy. (Too many fruits for me ~ 1 cup of berries or more) and i do eat to many nuts.... So ri*****alories...ugh..
On a good note, i finally saw a back doc and i suspected, i have damage to my lower vertebrae, plus almost no disc space in my lower back. I have MRI scheduled this week to confirm pinched nerve. Then i hope i can get a shot to help with inflammation and i can really start working on decompressing the space without having to r take narcotic pills.
My insurance will change on December 1st, and since i met most of my deductible, i really would like to have it done no later than in November.
I already do chiro, acupuncture, and massages...plus excise to decompress the back.. I use special pillows for sitting (even in the cars) plus adjusted my sleeping position (can't sleep on my side or belly) to help with that...
I even lost weight to make sure there is less pressure on the back.... Since i can't take NSAIDs - the localized steroid injection should help....
Due to storm i don't think i will do any major exercises today.

Saw the National Radar this morning before I left for work and that storm front looks BAD!!! praying that all stay safe. I didn't get all of my steps in yesterday. Everything was going good until I went to get out of my car when I got home last night. I think it's a bout of sciatica. I haven't dealt with anything similar to this since I was pregnant with my boys 22+ years ago. Truly they liked to get on my very last nerve to the point I had a hard time moving my legs and going from a sitting position to standing. Once I'm up the pain radiates through my right hip and outer thigh. Not loving this.
I've decided this getting older stuff.....STINKS!!! I've never had so many aches and pains in my entire life. I get on my own nerves, I can only imagine what my poor family is going through.
Eats today are looking about the same as normal:
early: Milk & Vitamin D
Commute: Coffee
Breakfast: Slice of whole wheat and peanut butter
snack: handful of Cajun trail mix
Lunch: Frozen entree
snack: 1/2 apple & string cheese
Dinner: Vegetable beef soup
Not sure that I'll get much in the way of exercise. I did clip on the pedometer this morning so I'm hopeful that I'll feel up to increasing my steps once I get home this evening.

I have been dealing with the stupid sciatica on and off for close to a year... now the pain is on almost all the time... That's why i decided to see the back doc.. aging sucks...

Take care in the storm! We'd love to have some of the precipitation out here in California!
Today:
Breakfast, coffee only (had someone come in for an interview, so it messed me up.)
Lunch: 6 cooked prawns that I added minced garlic and pepper flakes to, atop a salad.
Snack: Cashews and an apple
Dinner: Not totally sure but thinking about "Brinner". Eggs, sausage, sweet potato hash browns. Or maybe some pork chops.
I ordered a Dessert Bullet to make "soft serve" out of frozen fruit. Looking forward to receiving that. I hope to get my hubs off ice cream and on to fruit. Luckily, I am not an ice cream person... but I will enjoy it just the same.
I was having a lot of trouble with sciatica earlier this year. Super painful and no position is comfortable. I think that stretching my quads and hamstrings really helped. I have degenerative disk disease, so I get that compression as well. The chiro told me to lay over one of the big exercise balls. Look pretty ridiculous, but it does help.
Took a decent walk today but still only at about 3k steps. =/ Maybe I can head out later.
I have 2 discs herniated since 2003.... it was really bad in 2003... but eventually got much better... now I think things shifted some.. or nerve got stuck.. ugh...
