Rainy Days and Wednesday's Always Get Me Down
Good Morning BOTT Family,
Will the sun ever shine again or will it contnue to be dreary and rain forever??? I am in Pennsylvania, but as I watch the news and weather forecast, it doesn' seem to matter where we live from Maine down to Texas and over to the West Coast and California, the storms and rains just keep on coming.
I was hoping to feel well enough that if the sun were to show it's pretty face to venture out and take a walk to the corner of my street or maybe even around the block. I didn't feel well enough to work from home today as I took my last pain meds yesterday. I will be relying on Extra Strength Tylenol from now on. My appetite is slowing increasing, but I think I've got it under control!!!
Here is my plan for today:
EM - EAS Carb Control Chocolate Protein Shake (Done)
B - 2 slices of Turkey Bacon w/Egg White Spinach-Mushroom Omelete with 1 slice of PepperJack Cheese (Done)
AMS - Chobani Peach Greek Yogurt
L - 2oz. Salmon salad with tossed field greens & 2tbsp of Ken's House Italian Salad Dressing
D - 3oz. Grilled Salmon with green beans & 1 oz Broccoli
PMS - EAS Carb Control Chocolate Protein Shake
Have a Fantastic Day
Genie
hugs.. I hate rainy - overcast skies. I do think I have SAD ... I need sunshine to trive... so my people at work took a inflatable sun shape large balloon/beach toy - and hang that up by the ceiling tiles in my office over 14 years ago... So now when I am at work - and I miss sunshine - I look at that and it reminds me that some people listen and care, and absolutely hate when I turn into a depressed *****
Saying that - I moved from Saskatoon Canada (very sunny yet very frigid cold winters- very sunny and hot summers), to Montreal Canada - rainy and overcast + pollution - and lasted there only one year. And promptly moved to very hot and sunny South Carolina.. (when moving from Montreal - I could move almost anywhere - but choose South Carolina because it was nice and sunny and very very green... Summers are still very much too hot (3 months) - but otherwise - the weather is great for me.
Anyway...
How many pain pills did you get? not enough apparently... After mine I got 30 and I really did not need as many... call him - if anything else - using one pill at night may help dull the pain enough to sleep and help with recovery.
BTW: EAS - is that whey or soy? I am asking because soy may interfere with Thyroid (if nothing else - it binds with iodine - and that may limits how much of that is available for thyroid hormons_) and that may slow down metabolism. Beside that - most soy is GMO - and that can cause a lot of issues - I developed severe allergy to soy... and I did not know that for a couple of years... - my derma was prescribing creams for my rashes - that will go away and come back a few month later.. Since I completely eliminated any soy 9I was already limiting it very drastically) no more skin rash or or severe itching...
I am down at least one lb. Maybe more - but I forgot to eat much yesterday and go dehydrated - so most likely 2 lbs will return. (scale was down 3 lbs)
my eats today:
coffee + miralax + coffee
green tea..
protein shake
water and some water
protein cookies (if need)
tuna + cucumber salad
Chicken in Curry sauce, veggies or tomato
LNS: nuts or protein bread with avocado and tomato.
exercise:just running around and house work...

H.a.l.a. they gave me 21 oxicodone pills that I was to take 2 every 6 hours as needed for pain and when they ran out I was told to take Extra Strength Tylenol which I started taking today; I am feeling so much better. I just totally relaxed and rested today and should be okay for tomorrow as I still haven't left the house since Monday.
I have been sticking to my eating plans and I'm actually down 8lbs. since last Thursday...doing my happy dance over here. I have been using the EAS Protein drinks since my WLS and have never experienced any problems except constipation which is a thing of the past. They are soy based and I had reduced my intake to maybe 1 or 2 a day (except when I run) and it's only been since I had this surgery that I have had more. I usually eat most of my protein. I tried Muscle Milk that stuff I cannot tolerate it literally makes me ill. My surgeon asked me if I was still using the protein drinks and when i sai yes he didn't seem to have a problem with them.
Because I have gotten into running and unless I actually have problem I will continue to use them as well as the whey powered protein. I know it's probably not a good thing but I have come to rely on them quite a bit. I was even thinking of doing a liquid fast with nothing but the protein drinks so we will see...I need to move this weight. I plan to read up on the GMO thank you for letting me know.

8 lbs is huge!!!! Congratulations Genie !!!!
As for soy - just be aware that it binds with iodine- so if I were yuou - I would asdd some seaweed (in not as a snack - then daily 1-2 capsules of kelp or other seaweed. ( take in rtjher morning - it may give energy and warm up the body. )
Hugs...if they run tests anytime in the future - ask for a TOTAL thyroid panel.
