Like so many people here I have slipped back into my old habits & regained. Angry at myself but need to pick myself up & move on. I started my carb & sugar detox yesterday. It wasn't a perfect day but did eat better. Today I will work on improving my diet and get my fluids in. Funny how we can take care of everyone else but not ourselves. Need support....

Hi.  Welcome to our group.

Posting daily keeps me accountable to myself.  Being honest and writting things down, or recording EVERYTHING in my fitness pal account really gives me perspective.

As for carbs - sugars detox, it is tough.  When I had to do it - I would give myself a few days that I would concentrate on making good choices and initially not worry about quantity or calories.  I..e I would allow myself to eat as often and as much as I wanted - but limit the choices of food.  I would pick high protein, very low carbs food.  Meats, eggs, fish, cucumber, NSA pickles, avocado, some nuts, green beans, cauliflower, green or red peppers, squash, zucchini, etc.

Once I was no longer craving the carbs - my appetite would get more normal and I could concentrate on limiting portion and overall calories.

Losing regain is a slow process for me... When we decarb - we may see a quick jump down on a scale - losing all tha****er that carbs make us retain - but after that - for some of us - the weight just does not want to change much. Some weeks I may see a 0.5 lb loss, some -even a 2-3 lbs gain (ouch) ...but as long as I stay "on my plan" the weight starts coming off.

And on weeks that I don't see changes - I look at my MFP graph and it reminds me that I am losing weight and "the line" is going down...

I also have as few "skinny" pants that are a true marker that I am shrinking. (Couple of those are back in my closet, while a few more are still waiting for weekly fittings. )

Slow and steady works for me.

Most of my carbs come from fruit, veggies, dairy, whole grains.  I rarely eat sugar because I don't want to take insulin.  I should cut the portion sizes down too.  I will work on this today.  This is a great place to find support and ideas from other people.  Tri
