Hi Gang!! I'm back to work today. I'm not sure if the scales have been kind to me or not. I thought the battery had died in mine but when I changed that this morning it flashed an ERR and then went blank. Judging by the doc's scales yesterday, it's been a good couple of weeks. I could have drank a lot more water while I was out of the office but all things considered it could have been much worse.

I still have no kitchen. My tile floor in the kitchen is finished and now the painting should be finished tonight. Appliances get moved back in tomorrow (assuming the painting is finished). I've got dinner out with the girls tonight, a sleep study tomorrow night and Low Country Boil at my niece's house Saturday night so I'm taken care of. Skinny Man and kiddo are on their own.

It's great to see so much new activity on the forum. I love it!!! Hope yall have a great day.

I can see some improvement....enough to make me do my exercises even when I'd rather not. I can tell the biggest difference in walking on flat land. The knees don't feel as "wobble-ly" as they did a few months ago. I'm not seeing the results on the stairs as much as I'd like. I still look like a little 95 year old going up and down step at a time and I can't carry anything extra on my trips. But hey I'll take the progress thus far. It's raining and storming like crazy here today and OH BOY are my knees aching. Other than that I'm feeling froggy (complete with 30 day heart monitor and a sleep study scheduled for tomorrow night).

Sorry that you overdid it on the zuccchini noodles and meat sauce last night....it sounds FANTASTIC. On one of my many attempts at Atkins & SOuth Beach (prior to WLS) I made a cabbage lasagna (just steam the cabbage leaves and use in place of the noodles) that was pretty tasty. Stuffed peppers or stuffed zucchini with meat sauce was a big hit as well.

Hala: I bought the veggetti at Walmart yesterday, but they didn't have any zucchini so I haven't tried it yet.  Veggies go threw my non existent stoma, but then they sit in my lower gut.  My pouch is fine with them but I get very bloated.  I have to watch them too.  I imagine a plate of zucchini noodles will be too much.  Thanks for the warning I will be sure to measure a 1/2 cup or so.

Iris: I had PT on my hip and the exercises built up around the injured ones.  They used ultrasound and the PT's elbow to kneed out the damaged tissue.  It worked very well.  When I continue with my exercises my hip functions pretty good.

I did 2 loads of laundry and changed 2 beds.  Then I did a ton of general cleaning so I will call that my exercise for the day.

My foods:

B: egg beater sandwich on low carb bread 200

S: avacado 300 ? not sure... it was an average size

L: chicken breast, whole wheat pasta 400

S: ripe olives and artichoke hearts 200

D: chicken breast, whole wheat pasta 400

S: blended iced protein shake 120

1620

Hope everyone had a great day.  Tri

The veggetti makes really long noodles. I had to cut them.

To make the zucchini more like pasta - you can "sweat it". Use 2-3 layers of paper towel. Spread the zucchini noodles on the paper. Sprinkle with sea salt. And let it sit for 20-30 min. Bloat the noodles with more paper towels. They would reduce in size. But they get more like "noodles" so once on a plate - you can twist them on a fork like the real thing. Jus****ch for volume.  Btw: you can rinse off the salt off of them, and dry again.   I semi cook them adding to my sauce when I am reheating it. For bloating - try adding caraway and dill seeds to any veggies. I cook with them and asdd to salads. To raw salads - adding chopped green dill it adds flavor and helps with gas. I seldom eat too many raw veggies, the exception are cucumbers, tomato, and endive.

I also use the vegetti to make strips for cucumber salad - to change the look of it, or almost asnpy veggies that would fit.

Late ast night eating when I am tired are the worst for me. I often made bad choices.

My motto is : one day at a time - one meal at a time.  When I realize I eat something bad - I stop bashing myself (at least I try) and do better at a very NEXT meal. But evenings are the worst for me.

Hung in there. Getting of carbs and sugars is hard, really hard. But it can be done. I knowe that. Sometimes when I crave something sweet - I chose instead sour things - like pickles (no sugar added) or warm water with lemon and as few drops of my stevia.
