Hi All!  After a six week bout of severe back/hip/sciatic issues... with three doctors telling me.. I HAVE to lose some weight.. I am back... I had lap band surgery in 2007. Lost 130 pounds... felt fabulous and somehow life happened and I am back up 60 pounds and my body (which isn't getting any younger) can't handle the extra weight on my back... So its time to get back to my band!!! I had it tightened a few months ago.. but have been eating slider foods and sugar and well all the wrong stuff and until this back issue... I really have ignored the gain... so feeling guilty and dumb and sad and hopeless... but what I really need is to get my band back on my side again. So here I am!!! Looking for encouragement....

You came to the right place !   We can understand what your struggles are and don't lambast you if you have a bad eating day.  We are here for you.  You and I know what we need to do, we just need to suck it up and get it done.  I have gained 30 lbs since my lowest weight.....most of my cute clothes are too tight and I absolutely REFUSE to buy a bigger size!!  I am wearing whatever fits now and my wardrobe is limited.  I am a clothes hound and I hate not having a closet full of clothes that I can just grab something and it fits.  Good luck and come back often.   Together we can lose this weight !!

Slow and steady !!!!  Have a Blessed Day !!!!!!

Hi Peggy

We are all here looking for encouragement and ideas to help us win this battle.  I am there with you regarding the aches and pains of joints and muscles.  My body needs to shed this excess I am carrying around.  Welcome. Tri

Hi Peggy, I completely understand...

I was ignoring my regain until during my yearly check with PCP he called me OBESE!!! (my BMI was in OBESE category - and he is concerned because I started complaining about back pain, and sciatica)  He does his part - it's time to do mine.

And he told me I need to lose at least 15 lbs in 3-4 months... I am on a way. Lost 5-7 lbs.. and plan to lose the rest before long..

It is not easy.. but I can do it..

Hello from Sunny South Bay California (Torrance)!

Peggy... Im on the same boat.
Don't feel sad and hopeless... regain that "YES I CAN" attitude. You will be on your way down too.

I went to the doctor last Monday and I had to get on the scale. WOW! I have regained 40 pounds. I have clothes in my closet that is so nice and cute and I am unable to wear it.
So last Monday night, I went to the groceries and started eating the way I used to eat after surgery.
Im satisfied with the food and I am 5 Pounds down.

If I can be 5 pounds down every week... Then I think anyone can too.
We can do this!

Protien and movin' is the best recipe.
We are here for you! Check in daily!

I so appreciate the comments!!! It really does help me feel like I am not alone.. I am on day one of the band reset... doing just liquids... its hard... but my poor pouch has needed a rest from all the junk I have been trying to cram in it... I want to get back to that first year band experience!  It just makes sense.. we spend a lot of money, time, and even health risk to get these bands... and they do work --  I am living proof... so just get back on the band wagon and go!!!
