Hunger or thirst?

I had some food over the weekend that really messed me up. So this week I decided to have 3 shakes during the day, maybe one small meal (semi liquid) at work and one main meal at night (so if the pain starts - I can  just get in bed and feel bad for myself or take a pain pill and deal with it. )

I eat late at night -LNS keeps my sugar stable during the night.  During the day I take hormones that keep my BS stable.

I also try to give my system some "break"  so to maintain " no eating for 12 hours during any 24 hr period" . If my last meal /snack was at 10, I add 12 hrs as a next day time that I can have any calories if I get hungry. I typically eat around 10-12. Before that I am not really hungry...(before 10 anyway) .. but having just shakes during the day makes it little *****allenging... and I feel hungry.  It's OK to be little bit hungry.

But I noticed that many times what I thought was hunger - was satisfied with a nice cup of hot tea.. (I like green tea) .  I realized I was hungry... made a plate for me .. but as I was making the meal - I would drink a cup of tea.  What I noticed that the cup of tea made me full and it took another 30-45 min before my hunger returned...

So now - when I get hungry - I try to drink warm drink - tea or coffee .. and I know that liquid does not stay in the pouch more than 5-15 min.. so if I am really hungry - the hunger is going to return very shortly after I finish drinking, but if I was thirsty - The hunger may not return for another 30-45 min..

I do get hungry - but it is OK.. as long as I know I am getting enough nutrition, plus my BS is stable..it is really OK to be a bit hungry at times..
