Sunday - still long weekend..

How is everyone?  Sometimes family - friends get together during long-weekends celebrations may be difficult for us, specially when we try to lose regain and have no room for "cheating" .

I typically try to avoid temptation by following my steps:

Eat before the get-togethr unless I am sure that there would be food good for me

Bring a dish of food for me and/or to share..

Make sure I have extra food - my diet friendly snacks in my car (or my purse)

Make sure I have a lot of water type drinks I can drink (keep water flavoring sticks in my purse all the time)

Then once at the party - I check the food area and note what is there for me to eat - if anything

If the party is long - all evening- afternoon, I may fix myself a plate that will have enough food for me to have 2 meals ( I eat every 2-3 hours) . I may eat some and keep the rest on my plate - my experiance is that lots of time the lean cut of meats are gone first and since that would be my first choice - I make sure I have enough food for the whole evening.

I also drink lots of water - low or no calories drinks in beatween. (But after 30 min from eating).

If there is dessert that I may have a bite - I may allow myself a bite AFTER I ate at least 3 oz of proteins and a few bites of veggies.  That way - I can only have a bite - and many times after a nice plate of grilled chicken and some green veggies - I don't want the cake...  Lately - I don't have any normal people dessert - the consequences for me are not worth the 5 min oif pleasure eating it.

I may have a nice protein bar in my purse - so I can have bite of it as dessert. (I used to love power crunch bars)

My day today was busy so far with baking.  I baked some protein bars (I need dairy- soy- gluten free snacks I can carry with me).  My BF trimmed my bushes and we probably will go out tonight.  Eat will be fish or chicken with veggies.

Today so far my eats:

Coffee + Miralax

Baked protein snacks - 5 PCs ( 2 meals) with more coffee

I made a huge protein shake I will split into 2 servings.

Diner-  meat or fish with veggies.

LNS: dark homemade chocolate and or nuts.

Tomorrow we plan to go on a short hike... Maybe.

Don't forget the water and vitamins.

I am having a very lazy Sunday.......did get out to the cemetary to put new flowers and flags (an American and an Oklahoma flag.... Both of my parents were Okies !) on my parents grave.  Hadn't been out there in awhile so it was definetly time.  Had a small visit with my folks and stopped by KFC for lunch......I know bad choice, but occasionally I indulge in fried chicken.   Better one chicken breast from KFC than me frying a big ole pan full and eating it for three days!!

my breakfast.....coffee/ miralax....bacon and one egg

lunch................KFC chicken breast and biscuit

snack................popcorn

dinner...............chicken. Broccoli, and rice casserole

late night snack......watermelon

tomorrow is a brand new day !   Have a blessed Memorial Day and remember why we celebrate it !

Slow and steady !!!!  Have a Blessed Day !!!!!!

I miss fried chicken..... But I would pay in pain due to gluten... I plant to find a way to make good "fake breading". But any recipe I saw include some cheese and that is out also... One day...

Have a good day today.

Hi Hala

In the gluten free aisle there are gluten free "bread crumbs" that are seasoned as well.  When I want to oven bake fried foods I use those because my husband has ciliac disease.  I like them just as well as regular bread crumbs.  Sometimes on fish I will mix them with corn meal for a really crunchy fish.  You have so many limitations it must be difficult.  You are getting quite creative though. :) Tri

I will look for that.  Any so far I saw had some soy or corn or bean flour.  Or dairy.  All of those are no-no for me.  I get belly pains even if I follow good diet.

I tried some recipies but is still off. . . one day...
