Back On Track Together
Haven't posted all week, went to the dr AND......
These last couple weeks have really been hectic....end of school year always is.
I haven't posted much this week, but did want to tell about my doctors appointment on Wednesday.
My vitamin D level showed to be a little low on my last blood work, so I was sent to see an endocrinologist.
The endocrinologist naturally wanted his own blood work and I do have to go back in 6- weeks for a bone density test and follow up on his blood work. I took him all my blood work records since I had Gastric bypass surgery....he is VERY impressed with my overall health. Said my vitamin D level is just a tad under, but wasn't too concerned...he did up my daily dosage.
The exciting thing about this is the fact that he said I was "probably the healthiest person that he has seen in a year". Me, healthy ? I have always been told that my size would eventually catch up to me ( I weighed 320 lbs for over 30 years)...... I still weigh 230. He told me that I had already done what it takes for me to be healthy (having RNY). I don't think I have ever had a dr. say I was healthy.....they always harped on my weight. I am ecstatic with his diagnosis......now just to lose this regain for vanities sake !! 😉
my eats for the week have been good, water good, and have reached 10,000 steps a day three times !! I am SO looking forward to a healthy summer !!!
Glad you had as very good visit with endo.
So what he recommended you take for low D?
As for the weight - we both know taking it off is more than for vanity. Even though you are healthy and strong, as times goes on - the extras weight may affect the health, your joins and overall quality of your life. And ... You know you can do it,. It is hard (don't I know it ) but we CAN do it.
Please don't be a stranger.. We need you here...

He has me taking one more pill in the afternoon, plus told me to get out in the sun more.
I weighed 320 for over 30 years...I weigh now what I weighed on my wedding day....I weighed 180 when I graduated from high school (45 years ago).....I have dieted since 7 th grade. I have always been the "big" one in the family, (my Mom and sisters were average size until one of my sister**** 30 and then she began her weight gain and weighed 650 when she died at age 58. I know as I age, my weight will be a detriment......I will keep fighting the battle !! I plan to be healthy and losing more weight is in my future.
my summer starts next week and I will be traveling a lot, but I will try to post as much as I can. I enjoy the friendships made here and know that all of you understand better than anyone else about what we go through on a daily basis in our "battle of the bulge" !!
