The fires are finally getting contained, nice to have blue skies again....I ONLY like gray skies if it's going to rain.

Thanks and praises to the firefighters.

OK gang I was going to post yesterday but my phone had different ideas and wouldn't let me log on. Gotta love technology.

Gaby, this weekend was way to short but lawdy it was BUSY around our house. 1/2 of the family company has made it in. These people are an ABSOLUTE Godsend to me. I somehow managed to land in the ER late Saturday night. Came home with the holter heart monitor on and handed that in this morning. I really don't think it'll show anything. I honestly think it was a MAJOR dumping issue (unlike any other that I have ever heard about let alone experienced).

Here's what happened:

We ate dinner Saturday night ( alittle late than normal). It was Roasted Pork Loin, green beans and hash brown casserole. I ate the pork, a few green beans (less than a 1/2 cup) and maybe 3 bites of the hash brown casserole. I had made dessert for the fellas. Peach cobbler. I had less than a 1/4 cup of that and certainly no ice cream on mine. This is a meal that I've eaten before and in larger portions. I'd had a protein shake mid to late afternoon to accomodate eating dinner later than normal. I know how to avod those Blood sugar crashes.  Anyway....after we ate we sat around the table talking and having a really nice visit. I started feeling   & . It was like a really bad lactose intolerance episode but I hadn't had anything to trigger it. So I hustled off to the bathroom. The next bit gets a little blurry....I remember sitting on the toilet and reaching over to the sink for a wash cloth. At some point I ended up in the bathroom floor. That's where I was when the skinny man found me. I was conscious. He took my pulse twice because he thought he'd done the math wrong....over 150. I'm normally the polar opposite of that. Low pulse is why I have a pacemaker. He said I was slurring my words. Ended up in the ER with really no explanations for any of it. Of course they did an ekg and however many blood tests you can do off of the gallon that they drew. Nothing showed up. So now I have an appointment for Friday morning with the cardiologist and the pace maker people to see if they can figure anything out.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Not sure than I like the possibilty of something like this happening again. As scared as I was, I think I doubly scared the Skinny man. He's a one in a million.

Yall have a great day.

O Iris.. So sorry...

The hash browns and the cobbler would do me in.  It may have been RH - reactive Hypoglycemia - low blood sugar, but but the time the took you in..it may stabilized..

Kind off delayed dumping. If you did not eat enough the whole day, plus was running around, and was stressed - even good stress is a stress to our bodies, your BS may dropped too low..

When  that happened to me in the past - I would black out, but eventually my body adjusted and now gives me plenty of warnings, and I can manage as low as in 20's..

Beside very fast heart rate - I get very hot and sweaty..soaking wet..  and I get supper shaky...

or you may experience bad low blood pressure - after a BM dump.. . I only had that one time  when I had a bad case of stomach flu.  I got dehydrated ...

HOpe you are fine.. and stay away from cobbler..

You can bet your sweet butt I'm staying away from cobbler...and potatoes of any and all forms.  I thought about the RH too but I've had warnings for that in the past. Who knows?!?!

Good Morning Iris,

although I haven't pass out I've had those symptoms before, mine will usually start off slow so I know I need to lay down and its usually due to carbs, its weird how I've had something and then several months later have it again and become sick... I get shaky, pulse is high, really really hot and if I lay down for a while it usually passes without a problem.  I use to be able to eat potatoes and now i can't they make me sick and I start vomiting..

I hope they find out what happened... good luck

Many Blessings

Gaby...glad the fires are under control.......Bless the firemen and all who help these devastating situations.

Iris.....I hope the doctors figure out what happened and that you can prevent another night like you had.

My weekend was pretty nice.  Took a road trip to Lubbock on Friday(about a three hour drive)...my hubby had to see a pulmonologist and we go back in June for more testing.  Hubby has been diagnosed with COPD, but this doctor doesn't think he has it.  We will see.  The rest of the weekend was spent planting flower beds and enjoying the weather with little wind.

But today I am back at work !  This is the last Monday of my school year.....we are off next Monday for a snow make up day. School ends on the 30th.

Hi Botts:

I have RH, but never like Iris' episode.  I never have experienced dumping, but I've heard of stories that people say it is like a heart attack.  I hope all your tests come back normal rather than having more heart issues.

I am trying to eat 3 meals and 3 protein drinks.  Hopefully that will work better. Monday I gardened really intensely for 5 hours.  I wanted to plant 4 rosebushes and one of the holes had a huge rock about 6 inches down.  When I finally got it out with a pick and shovel it was about 10x6x6.  Then I trimmed bushes and transplanted some perennials.  A shower never felt better.
