Hello my name is Linda I had surgery July 2005 so I'm almost 9 years out, I have come to this forum a couple of times trying to get back on track  my thing is I can eat anything, sugar and carbs don't make me sick unless I go overboard with them, I've learned how to push my limits which is BAD in my case... I've tried given up carbs BUT it seems like I'm always hungry when I have no tortilla or bread with my meals, I've cut back on eating 5 times a day and now only eat 2-3 times daily (which I know is not good)

Alot has happened in the last 9 years, I wouldn't change my decision in having the RNY BUT I feel like I need to get my eating under control. I started college about 4 years ago, got divorced about 3years ago unrelated to wls, but found someone that truly loves me now, I can go on and on... but what I have found myself doing is just NOT wanting to do anything but stay home, I work from home so I'm always here, no exercise (unless you want to count the steps from my room to the office or kitchen) awww

I need to get my butt in gear with exercising and make better choices when it comes to my eating, awww I'm frustrated because I used to be able to do the protein shakes without any problems, now its like i have to gag them down.  I've had my protein levels checked and they were fine (because I had to been seen at the UC), but my iron levels weren't checked I believe I'm low in iron since I have no energy and I eat alot of crushed ice... so I've started making sure I take my vitamins, iron & b-12 ...

So I'm back to get back on track... wish me luck

Many Blessings

I really do feel your pain and I wish I had an answer.  I like Hala's idea of picking yourself up and not giving up.  i read that every time I read one of her posts.  It inspires me.  I wish you success.  Tri

I'm not sure how the forum has ben when you've been here before BUT it's an amazing group of folks who are on here. You'll find some great success stories, some works in progress and a ton of folks like myself just simply trying to get it together.

Get those labs drawn and good luck to you.

Hi Linda,

I'm Dar, and I had surgery in June of 2010.  I'm sort of in the same boat in that I can pretty much eat anything and can and have gone overboard.  I've been surfing this site for awhile, and this week has been my "back on track" week.  It's been a rough week, but I"m back to low carbs, protein shakes, and "using" my sleeve.  I did have a glass of wine last night, so I'll be more careful.  I lost two pounds this week, and I'm hoping that it will continue!  Best of luck to you Linda.  Oh, and those protein shakes were tough for me to start drinking again too.  It helps me to blend them with ice cubes, kale, and 1/2 a banana or some berries of some type.
