Back On Track Together
It's Monday
I hope everyone had a relaxing Mother's Day weekend. It seems like it flew by. I had such a nice time with family that I've decided to have a Mother's Week....My oldest son comes home tonight for a few days. I'm taking the day off tomorrow so we can hang out at the beach. I am SO excited. Needless to say, I most likely won't be online for the next few days while he's home. You can be certain that I will be drinking my water and taking my vitamins. We've already got meals planned and lots of activities in mind.
Yall have a great day (and week).

We were both writing at the same time, so I deleted mine and copied it here. I had a nice mothers day as well. I face timed with my kids and grandkids. Enjoy the time with your kids. My house needed the Monday morning cleanup. I did 2 loads of laundry. I sorted and bagged 14 backpacks, computer bags, gym bags and carryon luggage for donation. I started washing/drying sleeping bags so they can be donated. It's amazing how much stuff we keep and don't use. Hauling it out of the basement and cleaning and sorting it to donate or trash takes a lot of energy. It is so easy to just put it off until tomorrow. It keeps me busy and keeps my mind off of food though. I am eating out the pantry/freezer so my meals are interesting.

Good job on the spring cleaning. I get so overwhelmed at the thought of even starting I quickly find something else to busy myself with.
I know it needs to be done.....just such a big chore....and I have this 'all or nothing" bullsh*t habit so it's keeping me from doing the "just do one bag at a time". I need to get over it. You are an inspiration.
:)
My Monday workday is almost over...yay!
Breakfast was 2 hardboiled eggs
Lunch: my dreaded diet swiss miss hot cocoa with marshmallows and three bites of rice
Dinner: spaghetti squash with mushroom/tomato/veggie fake meat crumbles sauce
Yoga tonight....ahhhhhhh.....that's right!!!! That's a great part of Monday. Okay...feeling a little better now.
Have a good night friends.

My Mothers Day was a mixed emotion day. I heard from all of my kids and got flowers and my hubby got me a pandora necklace, but there was a wild fire about 10 miles away in a town called Fritch....it was on the national news....small town....100 homes burned.....my sister lives in Fritch. She is fine.
I could see the smoke and the wind was horrendous.....kept me up most of the night looking for updates on Facebook through a local emergency site...today was spent finding out that one of my co-workers lost everything and planning two bake sales to give her the proceeds. Been baking since I got home. Also planning to give her a "shower of blessings" ....Gotta get this organized fast as she and her family will be moving into a rent house this weekend. Right now they are staying with friends.
My eats for today were fairly good....not even going to list them today.
Makes me realize how very insignificant my problems are and I have had several chats with the Man upstairs today. I hope all of you have a blessed evening. I hope to be back on track better tomorrow.
Stories like that put it into perspective. My neighbor had a fire (from a fireplace). They had insurance and their house came out better than before. They had cleanup crews and rebuilding crews. It was traumatic though. Fortunately no one was injured. Friends and family were even able to rebuild photo albums from their collections. I pray that your friend's house gets rebuilt quickly as well as the others that burnt. If people and pets come through uninjured that helps. Stuff is only stuff and recovering from that is less of a burden. My neighbors were able to look at it as a time when they could start over...like when they first got married. I think your shower of blessings is a wonderful idea. The support from you and your coworkers will mean a great deal to them. I don't know how people can put injuries behind them though. They will all be in my prayers as well. Tri
Thank you for your prayers......one person did die in the fire, not sure of details or cir****tances......my co-worker is doing ok.......she was at the hospital with her Mom deciding on nursing home or hospice for her when she found out about her house....her daughter is graduating high school in 3 weeks and prom is this weekend.......someone opened an account for the daughter at a boutique and told her to go buy whatever she needs to replace her prom stuff......All the towns in the area are rallying behind this small community. It really makes you stop and think about what is really important. The fire itself is only 65% contained this morning and we have had less than an inch of rain this year.......we are prime for more disaster. Keep us in prayer.
WOW. I caught a glimpse of the story on the national news. In reading your accounts, I held it together fairly well until you wrote about the girls and the prom. It seems so simple but that small act of kindness will be with that young woman for a lifetime. It's humbling. Prayers for all of those affected.
