Back On Track Together
Thirsty Thursday
So yesterday I set out to drink 3 bottles of water while I was at work. When I posted yesterday morning I was on my 2nd bottle....unfortunately that's where I stopped. WTF is wrong with me? Such a simple goal but basically thumbed my nose at it and moved along on my course of self-destruction.
TODAY IS A NEW DAY!!! TODAY IS A NEW DAY!! TODAY IS A NEW DAY!!! If I keep shouting it long enough I'm hoping to get the hint. Admittedly, I am hard headed. I've started the day with a bottle of water with a little Crystal Light (CL) Pink Lemonade added to it. I haven't used the CL in a long time.
Hala - I've got an appointment in 2 weeks with a different doc for the knees. My Primary wasn't impressed with the report I gave her about the last one. I've also been having some issues with elbows, hips, hands and fingers so this new doc is a Rheumatologist *****ally has the reputation of being THE arthritis doc in our area. Apparently my Primary had wanted me to see the Rheum in the last practice since he was new and quicker to get in with but the practice handed me off to the Quack ortho....I wan't happy, Primary isn't happy and Quack wasn't happy since I wasn't a surgery option.
Today is going to be an attempt at balance (yet again). Lots of water. Ample exercise. Healthy meals. Fruit & Veggies as snacks.
Wish me luck!?!?! Yall have a great day. Remember those vitamins and drink, drink, drink tha****er.

Iris, I am sorry you are dealing with the pain and glad you will see someone good.. (hopefully)
BTW;some people report their arthritis improves if they stick to low inflammatory diet, specially gluten free.
Any food allergy - can cause inflammation in the body. I know that I feel better if I stick to gluten free diet.
I drank enough for both of us. most was water - some wine.. I do plan to give it up - the wine.. U just can't continue to drink that much.. . It is not a lot - but with my low tolerance to wine.. 1-2 glasses and I am drunk.. I need to lose 10 lbs in a month so I have no choice.. I am giving up the wine.
I had 2 glasses last night.. woke up in a middle of the night with horrible RH.. . had to get up and eat some real sugar .. 2 tbs of fig preserves and I was getting better. That is another reason to give up the wine. I took the rest of the wine and dumped it.. I was so upset with myself even getting it in a first place. I usually have wine on weekends and not during the week... o well..
Today trying to minimize the effect last night had on my body. My belly is not happy, the fig butter helped my BS but messed up my belly.
One day.. at a time.
Drinking water with lemon, and some stevia. I really enjoy that. At least this week.
I got craving for some hot-dogs. A few days ago I ate one - (sans the bun) and promptly my belly swelled like if I swallowed a little balloon. That think probably had some wheat or soy or both...
Last night I found some organic beef franks- all natural no sugar no soy, dairy or wheat.. I do hope they would taste good. Some of the "all natural food" is just not tasty.
I made large protein shake this morning.. it is still in my cooler in thermos.... I love whey shakes - but since I can't have them - trying to find substitutes that taste good and it is good for me is not easy.
I have been neglecting my health (only take minimum amount of vitamins and proteins) and eventually that is going to catch up with me..
I will do better.

You might try eating gluten free for a couple weeks. Several friends of mine found that gluten free eating made their joints feel much better. You will notice a difference in 2 weeks if it is causing (or adding to) your arthritis. Udi's frozen bagels, pizza crusts and rolls are great. Quinoa pasta is delicious. Read food labels for malt extract and barley in addition to wheat. Nature Valley Nut crunch protein bars are gluten free. Walmart old fashioned oatmeal is gluten free. Of course rice and potatoes are gluten free. Most potato chips :( are gluten free. La Choy soy sauce is gluten free. It is worth a 2 week trial period. Best of luck to you. Tri
Thank you so much for that idea. My 2 best friends (and their daughters) all have celiac disease and I've helped them from day one find products and sources for those products. I have an appointment with the Rheumatologist next week so I don't think I'll start it until after then.
You're right...it's worth a 2 week trial period.
