Easter weekend!!
Hey everybody...Happy Easter!!!!
Hope you have great plans. Even during holiday's meals we can make good choices: meat some veggies, salads, etc. Easter meals maybe eggs, ham and casseroles. You can bring a plate to a gathering.. Make that a plate of food you know you can eat. Many times I make a great salads or bring mixed veggies plate. Or a cheese plate...shrimps or smoked salmon. NSA dill pickles and olives plate... And so on.
Most hams have as lot of proteins - but some of them are sugar/honey glazed so they will have extra sugar. They are also full of sodium - so make sure you don't freak out when you see 2-6 lbs gain a day after Easter. If you follow proteins + veggies plate... With maybe one or 2 bites of dessert - you can't gain that much fat in 1-2 days. It is probably water rertention.
Days like Easter I don't limit quantities - just the type of food. I make my own "protein cookies " or other WLS friendly dessert (just for me) so when everyone have the pie - I have my personal treats - bring you fav protein bar if you are not a cook..
Making small plate of fruits with whip cream also works.. (Take fruit salad and as can of whip cream to a party - just make sure you get your serving - most of the time that dessert is GONE first..)
Remember vitamins and water. Adding lemon to water helps not only getting the water down but lemon helps the liver and digestion.,)
