Hump Day - 4/16

Thank goodness it's a short work week for me this week. I'm not sure that I could stand much more.

I am so ready to head to the mountains tomorrow and see my boy. He was home the first week of March and we touch base via phone probably twice a week. It's not enough. I'm finding that the absolute hardest, most painful, most difficult of all mothering moments is the part where you give them space to start their own lives. I've never been a "helicopter" mom and my boys will admit that they are true Moma's boys. It's been an amazing journey thus far and I can only imagine what some of yall feel when you've been rewarded with grandchildren. (I'm not ready for that part any time soon).  Obviously I'm feeling a bit nostalgic today.

My Aunt seems to be adjusting quite well to her "hotel" (as she calls it). If she feels like she's being treated like royalty and is on vacation....I'm certainly not going to disagree. I'm going by to see her this afternoon. I found a really nice pink and white polka dot gown for her yesterday. I'm jealous that it's not my size. It's so soft. I think she'll love it.

Today's plan:

commute: coffee

Breakfast: Ham Roll up

snack: 1/2 apple with Peanut butter

Lunch: grilled chicken sandwich

Dinner: Turkey Chow mein

snack: 1/2 apple with cream cheese

Yall remember those vitamins and drink tha****er.

I can totally relate to giving your sons space to grow up and be on their own.  I raised three sons and one of the most difficult times of my life was letting the oldest go to college three hours away.  He was doing exactly what I wanted him to do, but I also wanted him to still be at home.  The next two were easier.  All three went off to college and never really lived at home again (except some summers).....they are now college educated men with families of their own.  Seems like only yesterday they were out in the backyard hunting Easter eggs !!

Glad to hear your Aunt is adjusting......my Aunt did great in her assisted living facility until she could no longer drive and get out.  Now she refers to the home as her "glorified battleship".   I wished I lived closer to her so that I could take her to church and out to lunch and shopping.   These are what she misses most.  Just a couple of ideas for you.   Bless you for being there for her.

Good afternoon BOTTs.

Achoo!  Achoo!  Achoo!

My allergies are in full force!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is ridiculous....eyes watery and itchy, runny nose, sneezy, sinuses swollen from sneezing...I'm feeling so pretty....NOT!

Currently taking sudafed, claritin, and about to take tylenol because my eyes hurt so bad from drying them.  I even made a special trip to the store to buy Puffs plus Lotion because regular tissue feels like sand paper.  Okay....I'm done whining.

Breakfast:  uncrustable PB&J  (whole wheat bread & low sugar grape jelly)

Lunch:  Lemon Pepper Tilapia

Dinner:  tomato stuffed with tuna

Snack:  greek yogurt

exercise:  just inside the building today because of the pollen-induced misery I am currently living.  Walking hall and a few trips up the stairwell will have to suffice.. .HEY!  Does sneezing count as exercise????????????

Drinking lots of water today....meds and vits are on schedule.

Have a nice afternoon/evening y'all.

Oh.....and oh boy do I miss my son living at home.  That's a tough one.  I'm proud of him...of course, but he's my boy.  : /

Try allegra together with zyrtec.  That combination my doc suggested.  I can breathe and smell.. (the last one maybe not so good thing)
