Hi! I am casey, I am a stay at home mom of 3 wonderful kids and I had my RNY 5 years ago. in the last 2 years I have gone through a lot emotionally, and took up my favorite hobby of emotional eating. I gained 60 pounds back and I didn't know what to do, where to go, or anything so instead of giving up on myself I came back to obesity help. I am only a few days into my restart and  I am already feeling better, eating better and exercising more. I am new to this group so i thought i would say hello!

Hi Casey, welcome.  I'm new to this group also and like you I'm back here after regaining. Doesn't appear to be a lot of activatity on here so far, but I can't imagine we're the only ones.  Maybe it will pick up, don't really have mu*****ommon with the newbies and I'm definitely not in maintainance, I would like to hear from others and what is working for them.

Welcome to both of you.  I am 21 months post op and 6 months in maintenance.   I struggled with a small amount of regain 11 pounds and decided I did not want it to go any further.  I decided to do the 5 day pouch test to stop the carb craving.  Well that was a few weeks ago and it worked.  The cravings were gone by day 2.  I also lost 10 pounds.  I had my first slip yesterday total emotional eating.  So BOTT today.  It is so easy to let one day go into 2 and on and on.  I am fairly new to the forum as well.  I am glad you both reached out to change things.  This is where it starts.  There is a pretty busy site and people who are struggling post on the other forums as well.  Glad you are here.

So far I have cut most sugars out of my diet, majorly upped my protein and water consumption as well as started exercising daily. I haven't hopped on the scale yet so i don't know if i have lost anything. I just ordered shake samples from Chike and Unjury. Unjury also makes a cheese powder that got great reviews on their website so I ordered that as well. I am hoping to just go back to shakes and bars for a while to help me reset my pouch and get back on track. I started 3 days ago so it's still pretty fresh, which is another reason i haven't weighed myself i want to wait at least a week and see what happens this way I don't get discouraged easily. my personal goal is 30 pounds by my birthday which is in July. Fingers crossed for success.

I see you are new to this board,  I am too,  I joined a few months back but it isn't a very active board and have found it hard to keep coming back.  I do check in now and then and it helps a bit.  I still am having quite a bit of trouble getting back on track right now.....very upset with myself for losing ground but not ever giving up.  I will beat this and lose the 25 I have regained.  Glad there are others in the same boat and it helps to know I am not alone out here.  Welcome and hope to see more posts from you and others with great ideas and support for keeping on track.

I didn't really do the 5 day pouch test, but I did do 2 days of protein shakes just to break the carb cycle...not too bad other than a headache on day 3&4. No headache today :)
