Good Morning Gang!!! I'm running a little behind time this morning. It would have been such a great morning to sleep in BUT....duty calls. Gotta make that paycheck so I can pay those bills. The kiddo had a 2 hour delay this morning. We had more sleet yesterday afternoon/evening. Luckily we're back above freezing and the mess is melting. 15 days until Spring. We've got this.

My skinny man is having a meltdown. He had his "annual" physical last week. It's also the first physical I've ever known him to get in the 5+ years that we've been together. So the Doc called him yesterday with his lab report....He's called in Lipitor because of High Cholesterol. Doc told him that he had considered diet and exercise for a period of months but to be honest he was afraid of me...lol....this very same Doc sang at our wedding this past summer. Smart man. His fasting sugar was also a bit high. Considering the last thing he ate at midnight the night before his fasting lab work was an entire box of Little Debbie's it wasn't a surprise to any of us. David has never had to watch what he ate. Ever. He's been blessed with that metabolism where you eat the entire buffet and not gain an ounce. (I know that's a Foreign concept to me!!) So now he's having to really watch it. He's also taking chantix to quit smoking. My poor guy has gotten a reality check.

My plan today looks like this:

commute: coffee

Breakfast: Wheat chex & fake milk

Lunch: Frozen entree

snack: Celery with Peanut Butter

Dinner: Oven fried chicken strips with steamed vegies

LNS: Smoothie

Yall have a great day and make sure you get the vitamins and water in.

Good morning BOTTs.

Awwww....poor guy...reality of aging can really sneak up on us and then BITE HARD!!!

Weather here is about 80 degrees today....I've been wearing sandals to work again.  I wore my tall boots last friday but it was more like a foot sauna because it clearly wasn't cold enough to be wearing them.  I was talking to my mom yesterday and we were both talking about how wonderful it would be to live in Washington since we both love/crave rain.  Oh to dream.

Breakfast:  slice of pizza (cold and dried out leftover)  I was late...it was there...badda boom badda bing...I gnawed on it on my drive into work.

Snack:  SF hot chocolate

Lunch:  tuna stuffed tomato

Snack:  SF hot chocolate

Dinner:  tilapia and green beans

Snack:  small green apple and string cheese

Exercise will be stair running up and down

I have two new bottles of water in front of me and I WILL drink them within the next 2 hours.

Have a happy hump day, friends.

I feel for your skinny man.......he is probably going to have a hard time watching what he eats since he has never had to do it.  My hubby was the same way until after he retired......he has gained about 50 pounds and has absolutely no concept about portion size or good choices.  He has watched me watch what I eat for 40 years and never understood why I couldn't lose weight.  I just keep making healthy meals and try to point out portion sizes and I hear...."..you are going to starve me to death."  I tell him, no, I am just bringing you into reality.  😛. He is trying, though.

Cold here Today....but supposed to be 60 tomorrow......gotta love the weather !!

already taken my vits and half way through my water....

my eats for today....

breakfast..........coffee/miralax elixir. And a pear

snack...............one damn mini snickers.....evil secretary in the office !!!  😉. Not her fault,  I can avoid her desk if I want to !

lunch................cottage cheese (1/2 cup) and 2 slices pineapple

snack................apple

dinner................put a beef roast in slow cooker this morning, hubby is adding potatoes and carrots......yum !!   Haven't had roast in a while !!

stay warm everybody and make good choices......I am going to try my best....one day at a time !

Slow and steady !!!!  Have a Blessed Day !!!!!!

I am watching your posts and you mentioned that you take vitamins in the morning and are good for the day.  I have to take at least 2-3 times a day to make sure I take all vitamins that I need to take.

Just 1500 mg of calcium - I need to separate into 3 x 500 mg dosages. We can only absorb 500-600 gr of calcium at a time. We need calcium for bones..

some of my minerals and vitamins I can take with calcium - but some i need to take by themselves. I take multi - 2 x a day. Plus I need extra A, D, and K. Not even mentioning iron.  Add magnesium at night ..and I take my stuff 4 times a day.

ugh. Dealing with skinny guy that didn't have issues before is going to be fun.  The meds he will be on can have serious side effects so watch for that.

He had taken the Chantix once before and had what he described as LSD dreams. I can tell the way he's been sleeping the past few nights that he's actively dreaming but so far he says he hasn't remembered any of them. I need to go read about the Lipitor. I know the statin (?) class drugs have some doozies.

I take the "majority" of my vitamins fairly early in the day (These are in my daily pill container that I set up on Sunday afternoon). I lay out a couple of doses of calcium on my desk and take throughout the day. My additional fish oil I take when I walk in the house in the evenings ****ep that bottle where I lay my car keys) and then I take my additional iron at bedtime ****ep that on my nightstand).

Now I've got to get Skinny man on a schedule. He's not used to having to take anything. I started him on a baby aspirin in the evening with dinner a few months ago.

Just gotta find what works.

To protect his heart - make sure he takes CoQ10.  Read on that.. Kind of critical.

My colleague is on that - and I notice that his memory is shot.  He used to remember everything - but lately go goes around asking the same question ... we noticed after doc put him on statins.

If skinny man looses anymore of his memory...ughhhh.....Most mornings I swing by his office to drop off whatever items he's left behind. Keys, glasses, cell phones, lunch, meds, tools, laptop, uniforms, paperwork, coffee. It's a good morning when he dresses himself and gets to work in one piece. Poor guy just isn't a morning person.
