Back On Track Together
Tuesday - 3/4 - Cardio & cafe
I feel like SCREAMING!!!! The commute this morning was terrible even with a 2 hour delay. The roads were bad but do-able. Our parking lot at work was a whole nother story. Not treated at all. Probably 3/4 of an inch of solid ice. I wanted to cry when I opened my car door and saw what I'd have to walk across to reach the safety of the building. Needless to say I looked like a pissed off penguin marching across the ice. I knew if I fell that my knees would be shot forever. Luckily (no ---By the Grace of God!!) I made it into the building.
Today's plan is looking like this:
At home:::: Coffee, Coffee & coffee
Breakfast: English Muffin with nutella
Lunch: Chef Salad
snack: Celery & peanut butter
Dinner: Ham & Bean soup
I've already switched over to my decaf tea for the day. Gotta soon get my vitamins and meds in. Exercise plan is going to be a walk inside the building at lunch time or immediately after work.
Yall have a great day!!!!

Iris, please watch for the ice. Lunch may be to early, after work - the ice may melt.
The low weather system hit us also. No rain or snow but low air pressure. That makes my BP low and makes me dizzy, disoriented and overall very very sleepy. No amount of coffee is helping. Being a boss has good points today. I can take it easy and work late .. At the end I have to do what I have to do- but it helps when I can do that when I feel more awake. I probably will work till 8-9 today, but with my adrenal issue - mornings with low air pressure are close to impossible.
Beside that - the cookies I made yesterday - "green cookies" - are not too bad after all. The smell of the proteins I used was not very nice, but after I dried them in the oven and left them outside overnight - the crunch is nice and the taste is not horrible (at least to me - I am weird that way) . My BF took one look at them and turned green himself - so there is no remote chance he would even try them.. he he he.. ALL MINE!!!! He never likes my "diet" protein bars or that type of experiments I bake. But normal food that i cook - we both like a lot.
eats today:
coffee x 3 Miralax + protein "green cookies"
more coffee + peanuts
sausage with pickles
chicken + veggies stew
lots of water and my vitamins..

My plan was to walk inside at lunch but my knees are aching from the cold. I'm slowly learning the tricks of arthritis and the things that cause the worse flare ups. These joints don't like the cold at all. I figure being able to walk up the stairs to get in the house when I get home may be the most important walk they take today. So I'll give in and try and keep them as warm and flexible as possible.
I feel for you on the new restrictions that your daily life has taken. When my best friend (her daughter, sister & niece) were all diagnosed with Celiac Disease a few years ago - it was tough. Then a year or so later she was also diagnosed with Dairy and Soy allergies. Life was full of hurdles. Her daughter needs to have jaw surgery but finding Celiac friendly protein shakes that a teenage girl will willingly drink has delayed the surgery.
Hope the pressure soon stops messing with your head.

Ouch, for the arthritis and the poor girl.
For your knees check the DMSO (I used cream in the past for my shoulder - it worked)
As for the girl - I really feel bad for her. Almost anything has soy, dairy or gluten. I found some protein shakes that are gluten-soy-dairy free and low carbs - but so farI have not found anything that I can say I really enjoy. There is one or 2 that I can tolerate if I have to, but so far none that I really like.
The best thing for your friend daughter is to try some egg proteins. I am not crazy about them - but if they can be mixes with some fruits - that may be actually not too bad.
I find any good proteins hake - I will let you know.

Our weather is really quite nice today.....snow and ice have all melted, but expecting more on a Thursday. Iris, I carry some shoe grippers in my car just for ice on the parking lot at work......I don't remember the name, but I got them on QVC.......they really work on any shoe or boot. With my age and bad joints......I am way cautious.
I got a really nice compliment today from someone that I haven't seen since surgery. I don't receive many of them anymore, because every one is used to the new me. I tend to forget what I used to look like. My surgery was in 2010, and none of my students now knew me when I weighed 320. It is nice to be reminded of how far I have come. Doesn't hurt my ego one bit ! 😉
